William Clifton McCord (b.1856) was the son of Thomas Moorhead McCord (1831-1918) and Adella C. Durst (1834-1878) and the descendant of Joseph and Elizabeth McCord, and Thomas Robinson, the original elders of the Presbyterian Church of North-East which was organized in 1801 and located in the Erie and Allegheny county boundaries. Family members had resided earlier in Sherman's Valley and were taxables in both Derry and Hanover Townships in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
