My purpose in writing this book was to leave a mark on the hard face of passing time, a mark softened at the edges of a smile. An early glance shows a young family secure in its humor. Yet the grip of something stronger squeezes the three children apart and toward irony that laughter couldn't touch. It will touch readers, I am confident. My hope is that these pages will loosen the force that wrenched the siblings apart, even as they thought less and less of how to help each other. Still and all, they must turn their own thoughts around.
It's been four years since Jane Kincaid made history in the smash best-seller The Candidate... Vice President Jane Kincaid is up for re-election alongside President Dennis Collins. Of immeasurable help and comfort to her is her lover, Secret Service Agent Alex Warner and her sister/campaign manager, Corey Kincaid. Even though she's planned for a tough fight, the campaign's equilibrium is threatened by the rumor that Collins is about to be engulfed in scandal. The news comes from Julia Landen, a reporter assigned to the campaign and Alex's ex-girlfriend. Jane wants her campaign to stay above the mire, but Corey and Julia grow increasingly obsessed with Collins' problems—and they spend more and more time together. Not happy to have her ex underfoot, Alex shares Jane's concern about the burgeoning romance. On the eve of the party convention the scandal explodes on the front pages, gutting the viability of the Collins/Kincaid ticket. Everyone suspects dirty tricks and Alex undertakes an investigation—but any evidence she finds won't change the fact that Jane is once again standing on the edge of history. This time winning and losing both come with infinite consequences.
Teresa Mandrell’s first encounter with advertising executive Rayann Germaine begins badly and goes downhill from there. Within minutes of their meeting, Rayann dubs Teresa a ” bumbling amateur” . The event changes the course of Teresa’s life—she abandons the corporate world for what she hopes is a more satisfying career in Fine Arts Management. When budget cuts leave her without work, Teresa gets a job as a design artist in another firm, only to discover that the new department head is…Rayann! But the difference in the woman’s demeanor is so startling that Teresa can’t believe her eyes. Although the woman she’d fought with had been insensitive and rude, she was full of fire and passion. This Rayann is cold and withdrawn. To Teresa’s chagrin, the woman doesn’t even remember their fight. In fact, the two fall easily into an increasingly harmonious work relationship. As they grow even closer, Teresa slowly uncovers layer after layer of Rayann’s hurt and pain. When she at last arrives at the terrible truth, Teresa is left with one burning question: How can she turn Rayann’s heart away from grief and lead her back toward life and love? Watermark is the heartbreaking and heartmending sequel to Touchwood.

Dana Robbins needs a vacation from her girlfriend—and her life. Used to working out her problems in her work, the successful syndicated cartoonist plans a solo summer vacation on a houseboat, hopeful that the separation will resolve her doubts about her future with Shannon. But Shannon's frequent calls demanding some resolution only heighten her turmoil. Marine biologist Dr. Jamie Hughes sees Puget Sound in ways few other people do. The hours she spends diving its depths and running her laboratory absorb all of her focus and time. When Jamie meets the obviously distressed Dana at a friend's, she offers her scientific detachment to help Dana sort through her problems. Worrying about Dana's present is easier than examining her own past. It seems like an ideal way to help Dana sort out her future, but as the summer heats up, the distance between Dana and Jamie is anything but comfortable. Kenna White (Romancing the Zone, Braggin' Rights) explores unexpected passion, unexplored possibilities and unforeseen complications in this novel of summer on Puget Sound.

The New Messiah is a novel of personal discovery set in the 1970's. Neal Shelley is an idealistic poet who falls in love with a woman he meets while hitchhiking across America during the Bicentennial summer of 1976. But despite the storybook beginning, the love affair soon fades and Neal is left disillusioned and searching for answers in his life. In his disheartened state, he conceives a utopian plan to launch a new messiah movement which he hopes will end his and everyone else's unhappiness. He enlists his charismatic friend, Andrew Moore, to pose as a modern-day savior. They begin their mission with a sermon on the Venice Boardwalk. The initial sermon succeeds brilliantly but then Neal's plan takes an unexpected turn as Andrew starts to truly believe he is the Chosen One. Inspired by actual events, The New Messiah shows how American youth culture in the mid-1970's-characterized by a quest for higher consciousness; pre-AIDS sexual promiscuity; recreational drug use; pop mysticism; irreverent humor; and cynicism and alienation in the post-Watergate "malaise" era-was the soil out of which a messiah movement could grow. One of the most striking features of The New Messiah is its play-like format. The story is told through the conversations of the characters. The authenticity of the dialogue in the party scenes, street scenes, and intimate one-on-one scenes will no doubt be appreciated by readers who lived through that time period. College-age readers today may also find much to identify with in the novel's depiction of 70's youth culture.
