The place of judgment will pro bably be the extenfive region of the air, the moft ca pacious for the reception of fuch a multitude for St. Paul tells us, the faints {hall he caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. I T heff. Iv. 17. And that the air will be the place of judicature, perhaps, may be intimated when our Lord is reprefented as coming in the clouds, and fitting upon a cloudy throne. Thefe expre ions can hardly be underflood literally, for clouds which conflit of vapours and ra rihed particles of water, feem very improper maferials for a chariot of flate, 'or a throne of judgment but they may very properly intimate that Chrift will make his appearance, and hold his court in the regi on of the clouds; that is, in the air 5, and perhaps that the rays of light and majeftic darknefs lhall be f0 blended around him as to form the appearance of a cloud to the View of the wondering and gazing world.
