To their classmates, Wada is a quiet rich girl while Yamamoto is an intimidating lone wolf…but what they don’t know is that Wada is a mobile game addict in a passionate love-hate relationship (with a 2D character) and Yamamoto has a penchant for urban legends with eyes only for her favorite YouTuber. And their biggest not-so-secret secret—these unlikely friends meet at the food court every day after school to rant, rave, and learn what makes each other tick!
Alone and distrustful after a bitter divorce, Elise surprises herself by accepting a proposition from a man who lives in her building that they pretend to be a couple for the weeks preceding the Christmas holiday.
Out into the world goes the narrator from Save Me From Tomorrow, who at different times calls himself Sal, Nick or Jake, names of his favorite characters in American fiction. He goes out in search of adventure and experiences like those of his literary heroes, Kerouac, Fitzgerald and Hemingway. At age twenty-three he gives up his unexceptional job in Manhattan and plans to explore the highways and byways of America. Then a chance meeting with an old friend and the appearance of a beautiful and intriguing girl named Val cause him to alter his plans and shift locations to London. Working in the somewhat seedy yet vibrant world of a London pub, he encounters an eclectic assortment of Londoners and American expatriates, each with stories and secrets of their own. His story quickly becomes intertwined with theirs as he continues his pursuit of Val and seeks to live the fantastic life he imagined. When the lives of his fellow travelers begin to converge, the consequences of his quest become all too real.
The world he woke up in is long dead, dusted in ashen powder, and yet Keisuke still sees splashes of color as he travels through it. For the longest time, he’s wandered alone across the deserted landscape, clinging to the hope that something—or someone—might be out there in the emptiness. When he finally stumbles across that someone, even more threads of color start to seep into the ashen world around them. This time, when Keisuke sets off down the road, someone sits beside him in the passenger seat. The first acquaintance he’s ever made here, his first companion in this barren world. They’re both traveling in search of something, and after searching alone for so long, maybe they’ll have better luck working together? Their only lead is a witch who can answer any question—for a price. What will the two ask her, and what will she be able to tell them? More importantly, what will it cost them, and will they be willing to pay the price?
