This unique look at health care interprets scriptures of the Bible and adapts and applies the wisdom found there to modern ways of life. These scriptures teach that the prevention of diseases is not in the hands of doctors, but rather in what individuals eat and how they live. Health-minded Americans will learn how to avoid the disease-causing preservatives, growth hormones, and pesticides of the meat and dairy industries that pollute the once-fresh foods that the public consumes. Also included is an in-depth discussion of Satan's influence on the advertising industry and how it is linked to drug, cigarette, and alcohol addictions among the American people.
I didn't realize I had the power to defeat the devil and take authority until I got sick and tired of him defeating me. That's when I said enough is enough. I was beating myself up for past mistakes. I was ashamed for what was done to me. I was letting people run all over me and I failed to protect that little girl inside of me. Taking authority gives us the authority not be or feel powerless. To be in full control of our lives, situation and circumstances and not be used as a door mat. Taking authority means staying in full control of our ability to resist the devil. Taking authority gives us the power to command the Devil and all his workers of iniquity to flee and do what we tell them to do and not let them do what they want to do to us. God gives us power to trample on serpents, but we don't trample? God gives us the power to get wealth. Why are we broke? God gives us power to heal all manner of sickness and disease. Why is your body racking with pain? Get a copy of this book and learn to take authority.
Originally written in 1938 but never published due to its controversial nature, an insightful guide reveals the seven principles of good that will allow anyone to triumph over the obstacles that must be faced in reaching personal goals.
Ephesians 6:10-20 AMP says "In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. So stand firm and hold your ground, having [b]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), and having [c]strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] [d]shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God's people. And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news [of salvation], for which I am an ambassador in chains. And pray that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly and courageously, as I should." Taking authority means we use every resource available to us given by God to take back our power and take authority over the devil. Taking authority gives us the authority not be or feel powerless. Taking authority allows us to be in full control of our lives and the situations and circumstances surrounding and in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Taking authority means staying in full control of our ability, our healing, our deliverance, our salvation, our blessings, our past, present and our future. Taking authority gives us the power to command. Taking authority allows us to take control of our lives and keep the control in our hands not in the devil's hands. Taking authority means knowing how to be humble and not haughty, how to serve as well as be served. God gives us power and authority to trample on serpents. God gives us the power to get wealth. God gives us power and authority to heal all manner of sickness and disease. So then why are there so many people possessed by demons? Why are there so many people sick and afflicted? Why are there so many people in lack and living in poverty? Because we haven't taken authority and control. Instead we have allowed Satan to take authority and control over us. We serve God who kills, and I makes alive; who wounds, and heals: and we know that neither is there any God that can be delivered out of His powerful hand. For He lifts up His hand to heaven, and says, He lives for ever." Deuteronomy 32:39-40 KJV God is our master our comforter our friend. Therefore we take authority over the devil and take back our power by commanding the devil to obey.
"Fat People Don't Go to Heaven!" screamed a headline in the tabloid Globe in November 2000. The story recounted the success of the Weigh Down Workshop, the nation's largest Christian diet corporation and the subject of extensive press coverage from Larry King Live to the New Yorker. In the United States today, hundreds of thousands of people are making diet a religious duty by enrolling in Christian diet programs and reading Christian diet literature like What Would Jesus Eat? and Fit for God. Written with style and wit, far ranging in its implications, and rich with the stories of real people, Born Again Bodies launches a provocative yet sensitive investigation into Christian fitness and diet culture. Looking closely at both the religious roots of this movement and its present-day incarnations, R. Marie Griffith vividly analyzes Christianity's intricate role in America's obsession with the body, diet, and fitness. As she traces the underpinning of modern-day beauty and slimness ideals—as well as the bigotry against people who are overweight—Griffith links seemingly disparate groups in American history including seventeenth-century New England Puritans, Progressive Era New Thought adherents, and late-twentieth-century evangelical diet preachers.
Black people are not dark-skinned white people, says advertising visionary Tom Burrell. In fact, they are a lot more. They are survivors of the Middle Passage and centuries of humiliation and deprivation, who have excelled against the odds, constantly making a way out of no way! At this point in history, the idea of black inferiority sh...

African-American Christian singles must confront these and additional obstacles that arise solely because of our heritage and racial background.
