Sai Bhagvatham is a story of man’s engagement with God. The book uses over a thousand personal spiritual experiences and anecdotes that record inner experiences of persons wrestling with their religious circumstances. The experiences, drawn from all religious traditions, are evocative of how the divine engages with man. The experiences with Sri Sathya Sai Baba are juxtaposed with the narratives of spiritual experiences recorded by seekers over the millennia. The experiences with Sai are uncannily similar to the universal experiences of man with God; they mirror man’s journey to the Divine. The spiritual journey with Sai is tangible, poignant, accessible, and more intense than recorded before. Sai is relentless in the pursuit of his purpose, transformation of man, however much man falters, vacillates, resists, struggles, or even tries to escape. Sai demonstrates that in the relationship of man with the Divine, God is actively engaged with man; he is not an impassive bystander. The engagement of man with God is planned and activated by God, it progresses based upon the responses of man, and the engagement stimulates the transformation of man. Man, in his engagement with God, asks the ‘why’ questions, seeking to comprehend and explain God. He is also reflective, attempting to understand himself, and realize who he really is. The diverse and innumerable first person incidents with Sri Sathya Sai Baba create a vivid characterization of the persona of Sai, hence the use of Bhagvatham in the title.

This is the biography of Professor N. Kasturi, the chosen biographer of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This book is his autobiography, his story, his journey to the feet of the Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In his own words, "Each of us has to live the volume of biography, which we bring with us, as often as we are born, page after page, chapter after chapter, howsoever punctuated with dots and dashes, interrogations and exclamations, commas and colons, until the sentence ends ultimately with a Full Stop. But, luckily, I have as my inseparable companion and counsel, Bhagawan Himself; He dots the i’s and crosses the t’s as I live the lines on every page. He has made the Book of Life, my biography – momentous and meaningful for me. I must, however, confess that I do not deserve this book on me, by me. There are, I know, millions, who are absorbing the Love of the Living Loving God much deeper, who can, therefore, stand forth as messengers of His Love. They can lead the unloved and the unloving with surer and firmer steps, to the Presence of the Redeemer, the Comforter, the Saviour, the Avatar, the Sai. Nevertheless, when Bhagawan manifested a faint, favourable interest, when someone ventured to whisper to me in His Presence, that a bunch of my reminiscences may be welcomed by many, I was promoted by that smile to embark on this audacious adventure. My memory assumed the role of Chief Editor and hence, the chronicle suffers from imperfect chronology. Since the four parts of “Sathyam Sivam Sundram” relate most of that I have yearned to communicate, this book has become a personal testament, often perhaps too personal to be tolerated, for which act of indiscretion, I ask for pardon. Flattery is the food of fools, say those, who are denied that pabulum. I dare not deny my taste, for I have been fooled by flatterers, who threw appellations like poet, scholar, linguist, humourist, philosopher, and even ant-hill sage! Please dear reader, remember that I am struggling my best to eliminate the poison of the ego and sympathise with me, whenever you find the reptile raising its hood between the lines of this book. A few ‘old students’ of my classes at the University, my grandson, his wife, and a few brothers at Prasanthi Nilayam demanded that I should not give up the work and insisted on the completion of the book. As a result, this book, ‘Loving God’ is now placed at the Feet of the Lord and on the palms of those, who live in the Love of the Lord. Jai Sai Ram."
Countless books have been written about Sai Baba so far. Then why one more? And why does Dr Suresh Haware, who was the chairman of Saibaba Sansthan, want to write it? The answer lies in his five years of divine experience at Shirdi, an experience of a different world. Sai Anubhuti is not theoretical; it is practical. It cannot be expressed in words, he says. The Sai philosophy of 'shraddha-saburi' and 'sab ka malik ek' is very easy to understand but equally difficult to practise. Despite being a renowned nuclear scientist, Dr Haware states that there is something beyond science, something ethereal, an experience of the divine that cannot be completely captured. The events that led to his becoming the chairman of the trust indicate that Sai ways are not linear. The Sai Way is a beautiful tribute to Sai philosophy and spirituality narrated from a lived experience coupled with information about Saibaba Sansthan.
Om Sri Sai Ram. With love, reverence, and gratitude, Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSSIO) offers the April 2024 Aradhana Mahotsavam issue of Sathya Sai – The Eternal Companion at the divine lotus feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This issue features: A divine discourse delivered in May 1974 about who is Sathya Sai Baba, and how to enjoy true bliss. Swami reveals rare, precious facts about how He rescues devotees from worldly challenges and proclaims His glorious, divine mission to liberate all humanity. The remaining portion of the discourse will be published in next month's issue of the magazine, as part 2. An inspiring letter written by Bhagawan on August 11, 1965, to Charles Penn from the USA, outlining His divine mission for the whole world. An editorial on how to transcend the vicious cycle of birth and death and be free, based on Adi Shankaracharya's famous poem, Bhaja Govindam, as expounded by Swami. Personal heart-warming experiences of three devotees. Two devotees shared how Swami, the Eternal Companion, protected and guided them long before they became aware of Him and dedicated their lives to serve in Baba's mission. Another spiritual aspirant recalls how Swami established a heart-to-heart connection with her long ago and guided her to serve the organization as part of her sadhana. A beautiful poem also highlights the love and devotion of the author for Lord Sai. A heartwarming article about the 'Tiny Homes' project, homes built by devotees in the USA to offer love, hope, and a chance for the homeless to live in dignity. A touching story about a magnificent abode of Sai's love, 'Sai Prema Nilayam' in Riverside, California, USA, made possible only by His grace, love, blessings, and the dedicated, hard work of devotees. The publication also features articles on the inspiring programs and activities of Sai Young Adults and beautiful compositions by children in Sathya Sai Education.
Over the course of seven days, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda captivated an eager audience with his commentary on the Shreemad Bhagavatam, extracting the essence of its message and deepening the understanding and experience of everyone present. This book is the result of that event. About the Shreemad Bhagavatam: Despite being compiled long ago by Sage Veda Vyasa, the Shreemad Bhagavatam’s message is very relevant today for it describes the powerful connection to the Divine presence that resides within the heart of every human being. Its verses prove that whenever humanity is most in need, the Divine manifests Itself on Earth to answer the call of the sincere devotees, and to re-establish balance, right action, and the life-affirming power of Divine Love. Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s commentary gives an enlightening spiritual context to these stories of men and women, kings and beggars, avatars and demons, and seamlessly connects them to the deeper issues and questions that concern all of us today: life purpose, responsibility, honesty, jealousy, pride, ego, stewardship of the Earth, and much more.
The auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami, in 1953, opened a golden chapter in the history of mankind, for that was the day chosen by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for His first ever divine discourse in public. The flow of divine discourses, which started on that auspicious day out of His immense compassion for the well-being and harmony of humanity, has continued unabated even after five decades. During this period, Bhagawan has delivered hundreds of discourses in various places, to a variety of audiences. His benevolent acts for the humanity at large are also unparalleled. His noble mother made three requests to Him, namely to provide drinking water, a school, and a hospital for the village of Puttaparthi. Bhagawan has commissioned mammoth drinking water projects, benefitting hundreds of villages, towns, and even the city of Chennai. He has also built schools, colleges, super specialty hospitals, and even an outstanding university, and constructed thousands of houses to cyclone-hit people. This priceless inaugural volume in Sathya Sai Speaks contains thirty three divine discourses, of which five are for the students and authorities, giving invaluable guidance. There are also five discourses addressed to the residents of different villages, advising them on the value of unity and brotherhood.
This book is dedicated to Prema Sai Baba, the divine incarnation of the 21st century. Prema Sai Baba is the third incarnation of God on Earth, in our era. The first was Shirdi Sai Baba (1835-1918), the second was Sathya Sai Baba (1926-2011). At the outset, I must acknowledge the difficulty of writing this book at this very moment. It is now 2023. The previous incarnation of God, Sathya Sai Baba, left the physical body in 2011, that is, twelve years ago. Prema Sai Baba was born on June 28, 2012. At the time of writing this book, Prema Sai Baba is eleven years old. I have been visiting his house for eight years and watching every day of his childhood growth and development. The first time I met the divine child was when he was three years old.
