One of the terms of reference guiding the B.C. Round Table on the Environment and the Economy is to recommend to Cabinet processes and mechanisms of the resolution of land use and other environment/economy conflicts. The purpose of this report is to describe the underlying premise of the Dispute Resolution Core Group regarding the use of consensus in managing land and resources; to present the findings regarding B.C.'s experience on consensus approaches to conflict management, to show what lesson can be learned; and to offer a g̀uide' to consensus processes for use in environment/economy conflicts.
