This research report assessed how water utilities could apply Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) to new and existing infrastructure and evaluated the costs and benefits of such programs. RCM components were identified as well as how utility maintenance programs are currently developed and how such a program would be implemented. RCM pilot projects were completed with the Denver Water Board and Veolia Water Indianapolis. This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th International IFIP Working Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2012), held in Ghent, Belgium, during September 19–21, 2012.
