Building on the success of its predecessor, Carbon Nanotubes: Synthesis, Structure, Properties and Applications, this second volume focuses on those areas that have grown rapidly in the past few years. Contributing authors reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the book and are all leaders in their particular areas of research. Among the many topics they cover are graphene and other carbon-like and tube-like materials, which are likely to affect and influence developments in nanotubes within the next five years. Extensive use of illustrations enables you to better understand and visualize key concepts and processes.
In recent years, the IMF has released a growing number of reports and other documents covering economic and financial developments and trends in member countries. Each report, prepared by a staff team after discussions with government officials, is published at the option of the member country.
The Malawian economy is slowly recovering, thanks to corrective measures such as the floating exchange rate regime and liberated current account transactions. Stringent fiscal discipline, restrained monetary policies, and boosting of international reserves have been suggested as measures for controlling inflation and stabilizing the macroeconomy. Operation power and freedom for results-based management (RBM) and implementation of Malawi Growth and Development Strategy II (MGDS-II) are also suggested by the Executive Board. Measures to ensure revenue gain concurrent with spending have also been recommended.
Following on from the first AMN volume, this handy reference and textbook examines the topic of nanosystem design in further detail. It explains the physical and chemical basics behind the design and fabrication of nanodevices, covering all important, recent advances in the field, while introducing nanosystems to less experienced readers. The result is an important source for a fast, accurate overview of the state of the art of nanosystem realization, summarizing further important literature.
This IBM® Redbooks® publication will help you to better understand the effective use of the WebSphere® DataPower® family of appliances. It provides guidance on the best methods identified to date for building the various components that implement solutions, such as handling MQ-based message flows or creating authentication and authorization policies. The information and recommendations in this publication are the result of real world experiences using the appliances. Such experience shows that taking the time to plan a solution implementation before beginning the work yields the greatest savings in time and energy and the highest quality outcome. This publication begins with a checklist of items to consider when planning a DataPower solution. This publication is intended to provide answers or guidance to implementation problems often encountered by users of the appliance. This book is not intended to present complete solutions or templates because experience shows that every customer uses the appliance in their own unique environment with unique requirements. Thus, this publication provides a compendium of information about particular aspects of a solution. Use the Table of Contents or Index to find your current issue, and return to this publication when the next issue or question arises. Refer to the related IBM Redbooks publication entitled DataPower SOA Appliance Administration, Deployment, and Best Practices, SG24-7901 for more information.
This book presents the proceedings of the 24th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2020), held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 29 August to 8 September 2020. The conference was postponed from June, and much of it conducted online due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The conference is one of the principal occasions for researchers and practitioners of AI to meet and discuss the latest trends and challenges in all fields of AI and to demonstrate innovative applications and uses of advanced AI technology. The book also includes the proceedings of the 10th Conference on Prestigious Applications of Artificial Intelligence (PAIS 2020) held at the same time. A record number of more than 1,700 submissions was received for ECAI 2020, of which 1,443 were reviewed. Of these, 361 full-papers and 36 highlight papers were accepted (an acceptance rate of 25% for full-papers and 45% for highlight papers). The book is divided into three sections: ECAI full papers; ECAI highlight papers; and PAIS papers. The topics of these papers cover all aspects of AI, including Agent-based and Multi-agent Systems; Computational Intelligence; Constraints and Satisfiability; Games and Virtual Environments; Heuristic Search; Human Aspects in AI; Information Retrieval and Filtering; Knowledge Representation and Reasoning; Machine Learning; Multidisciplinary Topics and Applications; Natural Language Processing; Planning and Scheduling; Robotics; Safe, Explainable, and Trustworthy AI; Semantic Technologies; Uncertainty in AI; and Vision. The book will be of interest to all those whose work involves the use of AI technology.
Malawi has been affected by a series of shocks— including an outbreak of cholera and Cyclone Freddy, which caused significant loss of life and damage to infrastructure—since the approval of the Staff-Monitored Program with Executive Board Involvement (PMB) on November 11, 2022, and the disbursement of $88.3 million in emergency financing under the Food Shock Window of the Rapid Credit Facility on November 21, 2022. In this context, growth has been weaker and inflation higher than expected. The fiscal deficit in FY2022/23 (April/March) was larger than expected at the time of the PMB. Meanwhile, external strains—including shortage of foreign exchange, difficulties securing trade credit, and a widening spread between official and bureau exchange rates—have heightened. Despite a sharp reduction in the current account deficit, accumulation of foreign exchange reserves has been slower than expected, implying an increase in informal trade.
