The blunt, crude man shocks Brit a bit when he flat-out tries to get her into his bed...immediately.Brit is the sexiest woman River has ever come across. He's a man who always gets what he wants and the more time he spends with the mouthy, stubborn woman, the more convinced he becomes that he can never give her up. A few weeks before his assassination, Editor of Sri Lankas The Sunday Leader newspaper Lasantha Wickrematunge penned a chillingly prophetic editorial predicting, When finally I am killed, it will be the government that kills me. Published three days after his assassination, the editorial titled And Then They Came For Me, said, I hope my assassination will be seen not as a defeat of freedom but an inspiration for those who survive to step up their efforts. Indeed, I hope that it will help galvanise forces that will usher in a new era of human liberty in our beloved motherland. I also hope it will open the eyes of our president to the fact that however many are slaughtered in the name of patriotism, the human spirit will endure and flourish Though Lasantha is only one amongst dozens of journalists who have disappeared or been killed, kidnapped or tortured in Sri Lanka within the last decade, he stood out prominently as one of journalisms icons. Lasanthas story is one of courage; a story of a man whose gutsy and fearless stance for what he believed in, never wavered, even in the face of grave threat. This then is the story of a man who lived, breathed and finally died in the pursuit of the truth.
Doctor Theodore Teddy Thyme is one of the best in his field. He finds his professional work both industrious and enjoyable. Raine Justice Liverboardman will prove to be the ultimate challenge of Dr. Thymes entire career. Raine has been charged with attempted capital murder. Dr. Thyme is the psychiatrist chosen to examine Raine to determine if Raine is fit for trial. The case itself is hazy at best. No body had been discovered; yet Raine confessed to the murder. When Dr. Thyme meets Raine, he finds a person infected by evil and genius in equal quantities. He questions Raines family members and finds a history of bizarre, ghastly, and probably abusive people. Which may explain the murderous behavior of his patient. However, as the case goes to trial Dr. Thyme wonders if Raine is up to something more macabre. Some sort of sick joke, of sorts. Raine is certainly intelligent enough to undermine the United States judicial system. Yet there is a full confession from Raine on record. Haunted by Raine, Dr. Thyme might soon discover that the proximity to madness has severe consequences. These characters make the Jukes look like the Brady Bunch. Trying to understand the family tests even Thymes superlative skills. Blueink Review In Myself, Leigh Santoro tackles the viewpoints of multiple characters in the examination of a man who has been charged with attempted capital murder. The plot itself is interesting. Those who enjoy psychological intrigue may find this book fascinating. Readers who enjoy weighty psychological mysteries will be intrigued by Santoros premise. Foreword Reviews Santoros novel is a scrupulously detailed narrative. She unflinchingly delves into Raines psyche but handles the story with competence and finesse. The interviews Thymes conducted help the reader understand diagnoses like paranoid personality disorder, afflicting both Raine and Warren. The story in general is baffling, but the docs examination of an eccentric protagonist is enthralling. Kirkus Reviews
As the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. Interacting with people isn't his thing, and he prefers the company of a bottle of vodka, a shot glass, and maybe a whore. There's no doubt he's hiding from a checkered past, but he does well keeping everything to himself ... until the night his schooner capsizes, and he's stuck on a life raft with one of the passengers. Raine's young, she's cute, and Bastian would probably be into her if he wasn't suffering from alcohol withdrawal. As the days pass, DTs, starvation, and dehydration become the norm. Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he's going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it's no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned. He has no idea how he's going to survive Raine.
From national bestselling author Lisa Shearin comes a new chapter in "one of the best fantasy series currently on the market." (Night Owl Reviews) My name is Raine Benares—and it sucks to be me right now. I’m a seeker who found the Saghred, a soul-stealing stone that gave me unlimited powers I never wanted. Now I’ve lost the rock—and the magic it gave me—to a goblin dark mage whose main goals are my death and world domination. This is more than incentive enough for a little trip to the goblin capital of Regor with a small band of good friends, not-so-good friends, and one outright enemy. Don’t ask. All we need to do is destroy the Saghred, kill the mage, and put a renegade goblin prince on the throne. Did I mention I’ll be doing that with no magic?
For seeker Raine Benares, a demon infestation on the Isle of Mid couldn't come at a worse time. Already fighting the influence of the Saghred, a soul-stealing stone, Raine discovers she is also magically bonded to a dark mage and a white knight, two dangerous and powerful men on opposing sides. Turns out, the demons want the key to unlock the Saghred. As a seeker, Raine should be able to find it first. As the axis of light and dark powers, she's a magical cataclysm waiting to happen.

A steamy romantic comedy about good timing, bad temptation, and way too much tequila. Seb's the most famous baseball player in the world. Sophie's not impressed. Game on. Sophie When we graduated from college, my friends and I made a pact that we would only play this stupid game five more times--at each of our bachelorette parties. Tonight's number four and it couldn't come at a worse time. I have a meeting with a new client tomorrow. I can't be hungover. Unfortunately, I've never played this game without ending up that way. I'm already at a disadvantage with the client. It's the professional baseball team in town. I'm not much of a sports fan. I don't even know who the players are, but I guess I'll worry about that tomorrow. Tonight, it seems that, once again, I'm destined for tequila and bad decisions. Seb Don't get me wrong, I like being a professional athlete. I just wish it didn't come with so much fame. People are always staring at me and tonight's no exception. All eyes are on me as I walk into the bar--except for one pair. And they're attached to a gorgeous woman. When she finally looks up from her phone, she catches me ogling her and rolls her eyes. I don't think she has any idea who I am. Damn, that turns me on. I spend most of the night trying to figure out how to talk to her when suddenly she lands in my lap. She's playing a drinking game with her friends and has to get me to kiss her to win. I want to kiss her--passionately--but not when she's this flat-out drunk. I'd at least like her to remember our first kiss. The Next Day Sophie I'm painfully hungover. All I want to do is get done with this meeting, so I can go home and have my friends tell me about the guy I tried to drunkenly seduce last night. All I remember are his eyes--his soft, beautiful eyes. I'm on the field with my new client watching the players practice when the catcher jumps up from behind the plate and starts walking toward me. When he pulls up his mask, the eyes I've been thinking about all morning are staring at me. "Sophie?" he says as a smile starts curling at the corners of his mouth. Truth or Tequila can be read as a standalone novel or as book one of The Grand Slam Series. "Wow, wow, wow...So funny, so hot, and so sweet, all in one book. Seb and Sophie are the perfect match. I read it in one sitting." Reader Review "I read this author's Trident Trilogy. I loved those books. I was excited to see what she came up with next. Truth or Tequila is just what I wanted--funny, sexy, satisfying." Reader Review "I want to play Truth or Tequila with my friends! Hilarious scene and just a really sassy, funny book overall." ***Don't worry! You DON'T have to read all the books in 'A Town without Pity' first to enjoy this series! I thought of everything!!*** A future almost shattered. A strange new friend. And a holiday party that does more than raise a glass to good cheer. Now, normally I don’t go around asking strange women personal questions, you know, owning a bar and all, it’s usually the other way around. But this girl, Venus, who’s helping her sister, catering at my brother Liam’s wedding, gives me an odd feeling. It’s not what you’re thinking, and shame on you for thinking that when it’s Christmas. Dang, I almost tripped over a reindeer as I went over and talked to her, behind the food table. She’s beautiful, no doubt about it at all, but she’s got that look in her eye, man, there’s no denying it. There’s trouble, and in no small way, neither. And when she blurts out the truth, well gosh, you could hear a pin drop, and this is a wedding attended by more than a hundred people, ladies and gentlemen. *** Raine, my sister, points out the guy standing next to Liam, his brother, who’s staring at me like I’m his next meal. His name is Darryl, and he owns a local bar, and somehow I figure he’s caught wind of why I’m here. It’s impossible, of course, because nobody knows except for Raine, but the feeling I get in my gut tells me that he knows I’m not just serving lasagna as a favor to my sister. But he's adamant, despite my claws coming out, amongst all the holly and mistletoe, and I ignore the fact that he’s the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen, no ma’am, but that’s also because he’s the last thing I need. But I soon find out that in the few days that I’ve been here I’ve learned to ignore my needs and stick to my wants. God strike me dead, but as much as I hate him the moment we exchange pleasantries, I’m also unapologetically attracted to the sumbitch. …but can we get past this tug of war between us? Then again, it doesn’t really matter, since the very reason why I’m hiding out here in Huttonville comes back...with a gun in hand…dressed up as, guess who… Holiday romance Christmas romance Second chance romance Happily ever after romance Steamy romance Medium heat Mild foul language Cliffhanger ending
