This volume constitutes the proceedings of the first conference on the specific subject of radiative corrections (quantum effects) to physical processes within the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). While there have been many conferences covering general aspects of supersymmetry, this one brought together leading experts on phenomenological aspects of SUSY and focused on the search for indirect effects of supersymmetric particles. Participants discussed the status and perspectives of the MSSM from the viewpoint of present and future high precision experiments at LEP, Tevatron, LHC and at a future NLC.
The work presented in this PhD dissertation is the first search at CMS for Higgs bosons produced in association with top quarks (ttH) in a final state consisting of only jets. The results presented in this book uncover a new class of ttH events that will help us elucidate our understanding of the Yukawa sector interactions between the Higgs boson and the top quark. Despite this being the most common decay signature for ttH, a large contamination of SM backgrounds makes it the most challenging for extracting a signal from data. The PhD thesis presents many sophisticated tools and techniques that were developed in order to overcome these challenges. These tools pave the way for future analyses to investigate other standard model and beyond-standard model physics.

In August/September 2002, a group of 78 physicists from 50 laboratories in 17 countries met in Erice, Italy, to participate in the 40th Course of the International School of Subnuclear Physics. The purpose of the School was to focus attention on the theoretical and phenomenological developments in gauge theories, as well as in all the other sectors of subnuclear physics.
