You think what you feel; you say what you think. Words are nothing less than expressions of the heart i.e.,..."out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34. My poetry has its origin from my heart-what I feel (and know), what I have experienced from an intimate relationship with the lover of my soul, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:10 says, "We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." In this verse, the word "workmanship" comes from the Greek root word "poiema" (pronounced poi' a ma), a thing that is made; created; a workmanship, and where we get our word poem. Each one of us has been given gifts, talents, and abilities that enable us to do the "good works" that God "hath before ordained", or planned for us to do "that we should walk in them". We are the ryhthm, the meter of His heartbeat. It is my prayer you will find encouragement, hope, peace, and joy while reading this book of poetry, for I am His workmanship, His poem.
Haywood's novel is the story of the beautiful Princess Eovaai. Groomed for the throne by her father, who teaches her Lockean notions of liberty, she is overthrown, enmeshed in civil war, and then magically transported to a foreign land by an evil man. Part magician, part politician, he plots to marry her for political reasons. The fascinating reflexive structure of The Adventures of Eovaai incorporates argumentative intrusions (by the Translator, an Historian, etc.), interweaves political and amatory storylines, and blends a wild mix of genres.
In this outstanding Christian Education resource, the entire Bible Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 is divided into teachable units. There are many link-to-life ideas to help teach each unity to any age group.
Argues that homophobia will not be eradicated in the United States until religion is ended. Slouching towards Gaytheism brings together two intellectual traditions—the New Atheism and queer theory—and moves beyond them to offer a new voice for gay Americans and atheists alike. Examining the continued vehemence of homophobia in cultural and political debate regarding queer equality, this unabashed polemic insists that the needs met by religion might be met—more safely and less toxically—by forms of community that do not harass and malign gay and lesbian Americans or impede collective social progress. W. C. Harris argues that compromises with traditional religion, no matter how enlightened or well intentioned, will ultimately leave heteronormativity alive and well. He explores a range of recent movements, such as Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” project, reparative “ex-gay” therapy, Christian purity culture, and attempts by liberal Christians to reconcile religion with homosexuality, and shows how these proposed solutions are either inadequate or positively dangerous. According to the author, the time has come for “gaytheism”: leaving religion behind in order to preserve queer dignity, rights, and lives. “Lively, original, and serious, this book is great fun to read. One looks forward to how Professor Harris will skewer the next foe.” — Paul Robinson, author of Queer Wars: The New Gay Right and Its Critics
