A large international conference on Advances in Intelligent Control and Innovative Computing was held in Hong Kong, March March 16-18, 2011, under the auspices of the International MultiConference of Engineers and Computer Scientists (IMECS 2010). The IMECS is organized by the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Intelligent Control and Computer Engineering contains 25 revised and extended research articles written by prominent researchers participating in the conference. Topics covered include artificial intelligence, control engineering, decision supporting systems, automated planning, automation systems, systems identification, modelling and simulation, communication systems, signal processing, and industrial applications. This volume is the fourth part of a four-volume set (CCIS 190, CCIS 191, CCIS 192, CCIS 193), which constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Conference on on Computing and Communications, ACC 2011, held in Kochi, India, in July 2011. The 62 revised full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from a large number of submissions. The papers are the papers of the Workshop on Cloud Computing: Architecture, Algorithms and Applications (CloudComp2011), of the Workshop on Multimedia Streaming (MultiStreams2011), and of the Workshop on Trust Management in P2P Systems (IWTMP2PS2011).
These transactions publish research in computer-based methods of computational collective intelligence (CCI) and their applications in a wide range of fields such as the semantic web, social networks, and multi-agent systems. TCCI strives to cover new methodological, theoretical and practical aspects of CCI understood as the form of intelligence that emerges from the collaboration and competition of many individuals (artificial and/or natural). This contributed volume is written by key specialists working in multidisciplinary fields in electrical engineering, linking control theory, power electronics, artificial neural networks, embedded controllers and signal processing. The International Conference on Intelligent Unmanned Systems 2011 was organized by the International Society of Intelligent Unmanned Systems and locally by the Center for Bio-Micro Robotics Research at Chiba University, Japan. The event was the 7th conference continuing from previous conferences held in Seoul, Korea (2005, 2006), Bali, Indonesia (2007), Nanjing, China (2008), Jeju, Korea (2009), and Bali, Indonesia (2010). ICIUS 2011 focused on both theory and application, primarily covering the topics of robotics, autonomous vehicles, intelligent unmanned technologies, and biomimetics. We invited seven keynote speakers who dealt with related state-of-the-art technologies including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and micro air vehicles (MAVs), flapping wings (FWs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), underwater vehicles (UVs), bio-inspired robotics, advanced control, and intelligent systems, among others. This book is a collection of excellent papers that were updated after presentation at ICIUS2011. All papers that form the chapters of this book were reviewed and revised from the perspective of advanced relevant technologies in the field. The aim of this book is to stimulate interactions among researchers active in the areas pertinent to intelligent unmanned systems.
