Excerpt from Proceedings of the High School Conference of November 23, 24, 25, 1911 The Conference was everywhere spoken of as a great success; and certainly, if measured by numbers and enthusiasm, the-pop ular verdict was just. We should not permit ourselves, however, to lose sight of the fact that the greater evidences of success were with those groups where attempts had been made to work out definite problems. In this day of meetings for stirring enthusiasm and getting inspiration it is not easy for many of us to get the significance of real accomplishment as a means of arousing interest. We have repeatedly said to teachers, principals and university professors that we are not seeking large numbers but workers; not a great body of those passively receptive, but earnest groups of those who are willing to be the aggressors in the field of educational advancement.
