This report gives a population and economic profile of Raymond, Mississippi. The analysis of present trends in major employment categories results in projections for selected categories for 1990. Population projections for Raymond are based on broader forecasts for the Jackson metropolitan area. The 1990 manufacturing employment projection for Raymond of 700 represents an increase of approximately 380 over the 1970 figure. An additional 140 jobs over the 1970 total of 280 are forecast in the education category. The 1990 Raymond planning area population is forecast at 3,830. The town of Raymond forecast for 1990 is 2,295. This report discusses and forecasts personal income, retail trade, and makes recommendations for area economic development.
