The first part of the guide covers the following subjects: the seed system and its regulation; collecting seeds from wild lands; choice of cultivar or population; establishing a stand, including land preparation and seeding; weed control; fertilization; stand renovation and other considerations such as pollination; irrigation; special considerations for wild flower species; harvesting of seeds; expected seed yield and stand life; and seed processing. The second and third parts provide information on specific grasses and wild flowers, including plant characteristics, habitat, distribution, phenology, seeding and harvest methods, seed processing, forage properties if any, available cultivars, and role in reclamation. Includes glossary and species index.
