Poetry of a Soul in Transit a second collection of poems, preceded by Hope in Moonlit Dreams, is also inspired by the beautiful sceneries and waterways of the Florida Keys, and true to my life. "Gardeners 'Legacy" (West Martello Towers), "My Life on the Water," "Deja vu," "Key West Butterflies," "St-Mary Star of the Sea," "Love of a Friend," "Second Wind," "Grandmother Lemay," "Sailing the Keys," "D j vu," are some of the poems you will find here. Between land and sea, anchored out off Sunset Cove, closer to nature than I had ever been before, my search has moved inward. Poetry of a Soul in Transit, an attempt to rise above this sea of temporary duality, brings forth these poems, like soldiers fighting for my sanity. My spirit has traveled through many bodies since my birth. Storms come and go but nothing can cut me, burn or destroy me, I am an eternal spirit. Writing brings me solace; it is where you will find me disarmed on the road to self-realization. It is where I am found most reasonable...where I am able to find the sun shining through darkest of clouds.
Includes commentary and essays on a variety of subjects as an appendage to the poetry collection.
A book of poems by Molly Marchetti. All poems are freestyle, most don't rhyme and some contain profanity. Enjoy.
Poetry. Asian & Asian American Studies. Winner of the Kundiman Prize for exceptional work by an Asian American poet. "In Rohan Chhetri's LOST, HURT, OR IN TRANSIT BEAUTIFUL, inherited literary forms--the ode, the lyric, and pristine tercets--are juxtaposed with gorgeously fractured and stylistically daring hybrid pieces. The end result is a work in which poetic technique is brought to bear on lingering questions of identity, artistic tradition, and the cruelty implicit in language itself. Here, form, grammar, and syntax function as a kind of containment, but also, a 'ruined field' that is rife with possibility. Chhetri dramatizes and resists the ways language, and its implicit logic, limit what is possible within our most solitary reflections, defining even those 'vague dreams' that in the end we greet alone. 'This is how violence enters / a poem,' he explains, 'through a screen / door crawling out & Mother asleep on the couch.' These pieces are as lyrical as they are grounded, and as understated as they are ambitious. 'In my language, there is a name for this music,' he tells us. As his stunning collection unfolds, Chhetri reminds us, with subtlety and grace, that the smallest stylistic decisions in poetry are politically charged. This is a haunting book."--from the Kundiman Prize Citation

People are beautiful and lend beauty in everything they associate with. Each one of us has a different story to tell and the differences are because of our different circumstances. Admire, appreciate and laud the imperfections because there is beauty in it. These 25 poems written in free verse are an attempt to celebrate each day- the mental skirmishes, the emotional bafflement ,the mounting expectation, exceptional nature, divine geography to name a few. So, celebrate differences, see beauty in diversity, the fights are love inside out, be grateful to Him for giving us this beautiful world ,these lovely relations because time is fleeting .Simple to read and an endeavour by the writer to make daily chores during the travel and post it poetic.

You were a man. This is a story of adventure, an encounter with the unknown, a knight's undaunted journey into the kingdom of death; this is a story of the world you've always known, that first primer where "on page three a dog appeared, on page five a ball" and every familiar facet has been made to shimmer like the contours of a dream, "the dog float[ing] into the sky to join the ball."
