Richard Stephenson died about 1765 and left a will distributing his property between his children and stepchildren. They settled in the Shenandoah River Valley of Virginia. Information on three of his sons, Hugh, Richard, and John along with less material on his other children is included in this volume. Descendants now live in West Virginia, Maryland, and elsewhere.
