This is a classic re-issue of poems written by Abigail, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel aged six. She has composed verse since she was a tiny puppy and feels that this small collection of her work might be of interest to other dogs and their owners.
Stumpy Malone is a cheeky little black cat who was born without hind paws. He doesn’t think of himself as disabled, and often wonders why other cats have those funny blobby things on the end of their back legs. He takes a robust view of life – a life he shares with two extremely challenged humans, the Earth Mother (EM) and Poor Roger (PR), along with a cast of felines. There is the lumpy ginger boy, Benjamin Wobble, who has mobility problems and a tendency to be over-friendly. Miss Elizabeth has heart problems but reminds everyone of her ‘Head Monitor’ status at every opportunity. Then there’s Whizzy, who lost a leg in a traffic accident, and many others, none of whom could be described as ‘normal’. Stumpy has an insatiable appetite for life and gets into a number of scrapes, driving the humans mad with worry. When they aren’t worrying about Bonnie Bun-Bun’s dementia and cats sabotaging telephones and computers, EM and PR are frequently searching for Stumpy, who proves that two paws are all a cat needs to cause a lot of trouble... Paws for Thought is a humorous book that will appeal to cat lovers everywhere – especially to fans of Heather’s first book, Evie’s Diary, which was featured in Your Cat and Cat World, amongst other publications, and received well by readers, who have commented: “If you like cats you’ll love this book... Highly a-mew-sing from start to finish.” “A wonderful book... The EM and Poor Roger are well under the paw and give their feline friends so much care and love.”
This book by Aubrey Fossedale contains a daily spiritual quote for one hundred days. Every quote has been taken from ancient vole scripture brought from Armenia in 1690. There are some modern equivalents in the quotes but the base meanings are no different from what was written thousands of years ago. All voles pray to Hanuman, the monkey god, at their temple at Cricklewood in North London. This has a profound effect on their lives and their dealings with others. They are known as polite and charitable creatures who enjoy the arts and literature as well as chocolate sponge pudding with chocolate custard. Please take time to read this book over the next one hundred days and if life has been cruel to you then maybe, with the spiritual enlightenment contained in the following pages, things may improve for you.
Once upon a time I existed without a pet around my home. I think of those days as the dark ages. Then the enlightenment arrived with a dog called Charlie and a cat called Spite. They have become my firm friends and companions. They bring happiness and laughter to every day that I've been with them. They are far better stress-busters than bubble-wrap. Even when I want a little bit of peace and quiet and they won't let me, they unfailingly offer unconditional affection at all times. Unless you are my postman. They are clever and intuitive and Charlie and I both know the golden rule. The cat is the boss. This book is a humourous set of recollections about my life and times with my cat and dog. Any animal lover will share my delight in co-existing with two animals that have their very own perceptions of what a pets' life should be like. If your ideas do not match with theirs then they will soon do so. The book contains a wealth of really good advice on how to train and deal with your pets. It may do no good whatsoever.

The follow-up book to the bestselling 'One Hundred Ways For A Dog To Train Its Human', this is the guide for all dogs who like to take a humorous look at the great outdoors! Excerpts from the book: On those wet, windy, wintry walks when you're as dirty and as slimy as you can get, don't slip and slide frenetically as you try to clamber over a stile. Let your human sweep you up into their arms and gently carry you over, whilst you watch the remnants of that cow pat transfer from your coat to theirs. Responsible humans like to know where you are at all times. Be considerate and tell them where you've been too, by leaving a trail of muddy footprints across all floor surfaces. It's only since humans have domesticated dogs, that you've had to be clean. Go ancestral. Get dirty!
