Johaan Paulus Beringer (John Paul Barringer), born in 1721 in Schwaigern, Germany, was the son of Johaan Matthaus Beringer and Anna Catharina Boger. He left Germany for Rotterdam and then America in 1743. He married Ann Eliza Eisman around 1744 and they settled in Bucks Co., Pennsylvania, near Mount Bethel (now in Northampton Co.). Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylavania and North CArolinba. The book also covers four generations of ancestors in Germany.
Jacob M. (Mathias?) Weik (1756-1835) was "...born most likely in Pennsylvania, the son of a German immigrant..." He married Susannah Moir (Myers) in 1783 and died in Lincoln (now Catawba) County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in most of the United States.

Amos Stackhouse was born 31 March 1819 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He married Rebecca Snow (d. 1846) in 1843. They had one son, Ellison Stackhouse (1845-1925). Amos married Anna Williamson in 1849. They had six children. He married Anna Myers (1851-1916) in 1871 in Jacksonville, Florida. They had four children. He died in 1909 in Stackhouse, North Carolina.
