After receiving an incredible intelligence report from the planet Nygel 2, in the Otarian star system, Admiral Fantong is ordered by the STARCORE High Council to redeploy the USS PERFORMANCE to investigate the report. Captain Powers receives his orders from the STARCORE High Council, via Admiral Fantong about the need for an observation post. General Gerhing puts a special clause in the message to the USS PERFORMANCE asking that CW01 Weatherspoon lead the ship’s auxiliary force. The general further requests that CW01 Weatherspoon head up the landing party. The Gardenians have put into motion the plan to capture STARCORE’s only functional cyborg outside of the laboratory. All that is left now is for the Gardenians to kill anyone involved with the plan so that nothing can connect them to the diabolical seizure. In this book, Mick Howard uses a Saussurean framework to explore how bodies and technologies intermingle through a theory of cyborg semiotics.
