The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in educators making a sudden shift to a largely online modality in teaching. Using the online videoconferencing tool (i.e., Zoom) for online interviews in real-time, a small-scale exploratory study was conducted to find out how tutors shifted to teaching online and to identify emerging practices. This case examines the use of Zoom as a tool for qualitative interviews during the COVID-19 lockdown when researchers were not able to conduct face-to-face interviews. The case will highlight the methodological and practical challenges of conducting an online interview. It will also examine the ethical implications and considerations when interviews are conducted online.
