This volume is a complete guide for Lodge Chaplains and members of Freemasonry - the world's largest and oldest fraternity. This guide is intended to assist newly appointed Chaplains so they may learn to succeed in this chosen path. Inside you'll find prayers and anecdotes for a wide range of scenarios from how to say grace at the dinner table to the prayers used while officiating at a funeral. While most Lodges have a small handout of prayers for use, this guide provides a hard copied version of many popular prayers that can be carried with you at Lodge, but also in the privacy of your home. Since this volume is dedicated for the exclusive use of Freemasons, others who peruse it may find certain terms difficult to comprehend. It is done so with purpose and one that you will only find the answers to, should you, apply to become a Freemason.
My book of masonic prayers contains fifty prayers I have used in Lodge. They have not been set in any order, but rather were added as penned. This is a non-denominational personalized prayer book for our brethrenas use, which may be used in and out of Lodge on occasions as the need and time arises. It is my prayer and hope that the prayers contained herein will be of use to our Fraternity. My Personal Prayer When I arrive in heaven I wonder how it will be, To see my wonderful Saviour The one who died for me, All the wonderful things he will show me When I walk through the gates, The ones whoave gone before me Who now in heaven wait, To spend eternity with them Never to part no more, Yes the wonderful things Heall show me, When I arrive in heaven To live forevermore.
In Compendium of Prayers and Graces, acclaimed and accomplished author Revd Neville Barker Cryer focuses on the very ancient practice of saying of grace before dining. An act of expressing thanks to God for the provision for our food, drink and fellowship in which to share them, saying grace is a practice that is still observed on many occasions. The same is true at all meetings of British Free and Accepted Masons, adopting the ancient Jewish custom of saying grace both before and after dining, and the author explains why there are different graces for before and after meals. Originating from the Latin word "Gratias," meaning "thanks," grace has always been attached to the Latin "Deo," "to God," therefore blessing the Creator for the divine provision of food. The sincere offering of grace can be a necessary and helpful introduction to sharing and being thankful that we have food to eat when so many are hungry. It is an act that binds us to share, not least the Freemasons belief and trust in a Supreme Being, private to each one of us, but yet forming a shared conviction. The graces and prayers gathered within Compendium of Prayers and Graces are from new and many older sources. It is hoped that they may enable those who act as Chaplains in Lodges, as well as others charged with that important duty, to vary the content and purpose of what they are offering.0964350408\\In Who is Fourier? Though their rites are secret, Masons assure others that their practices are totally compatible with Christianity. But there is an injunction to each Mason to practice "his particular religious creed, that revelation of the Deity which is recognized by his religion." What really goes on behind the Temple door?
