La Nueva Contribución a la Crítica de la Educación, del profesor Villegas, expone lo que llama inhibidores del aprendizaje y propone cómo podría ayudar a superarlos el aprendizaje basado en problemas. Establece con mayor fundamentación los principios de la teoría de la educación interactiva: la inversión copernicana en educación que cambia el sentido unilateral y vertical maestro-alumno del flujo conocimiento, el principio de educar por omisión que libera la mente del alumno de creencias y dogmas y, especialmente, de lo que llama la alienación epistemológica o falta de confianza en la propia capacidad de pensamiento, y el principio de conocer como acción-cognición con el concepto del sujeto de aprendizaje como receptos pero también como productor de conocimiento. El tema principal de la obra es el aprendizaje basado en problemas y el Sistema ABP, pero en el capítulo IV siembra lo que llama el germen de la universidad-proyecto y de la sociedad que se da un modelo educativo conformado por la tríada mente-escuela-sociedad. Fiel a su propio principio de que conocer es crear y que crear es hacer primero, tomados el primero del maestro mexicano Guillermo Héctor Rodríguez, y el segundo de la epistemología japonesa, baja sus teorías del cielo a la tierra e inicia una aventura editorial propia con la preparación y publicación de compendios que contienen lo esencial de cada disciplina, "lo que no puede dejar de saberse", para educación media y primera mitad de superior. Invita además a los maestros, al diseño de contenidos no lineales con los principios de la educación interactiva porque está consciente de que la formación de trabajadores del conocimiento, como se les llama, es una cuestión estratégica de supervivencia para cualquier sociedad y especialmente para las que están en vías de desarrollo y sufren los embates de la globalización financiera sin prevenirse contra ella.
The significant growth of number of students enrolled in tertiary education institutions in the recent past decades has caused an unprecedented expansion of higher education systems. The rapid and constant social, economic and technological mutations and international competition make the importance of qualitatively well-educated citizenry and labor forces very decisive. Globalization has developed a powerful impact on the development of higher education and imposes new challenges for the organization (standards, financing, regulations). Systems of higher education tend to detach from the national models and adopt a more "global" orientation. The implementation of quality assurance is one of the recent and most decisive transformations of higher education. Different higher education systems are trying to develop assessment tools (internal and external) to improve the quality of teaching, research and extension activities, and these are either based on experiences of selected countries or are extensively country specific. The quality assurance procedures that were often dependent on national directorial traditions have gradually tended to converge and led to a setup of common tools and standards. Countries under a centralized system tend to impose a uniform and general model while decentralized systems give greater freedom to universities to set up their own quality. International rankings of universities also contribute to impose a set of transnational standards and values, which is also being considered as indicative by the stakeholders. The present book tries to look at the quality assurance mechanism, international rankings and its impact in both absolute and comparative fashion in context of 11 countries from different parts of the world.
El libro que nos ocupa presenta una gama de posibilidades teórico metodológicas para abordar los retos y desafíos educativos desde diversas perspectivas, através de la reflexión y análisis de los actores. El primer reto y desafío loconstituye el no dejar de lado una visión amplia de la educación y de los procesos formativos de los sujetos a través de la educación. Un segundo desafío, da cuenta de los factores de riesgo en las sociedades actuales a los que se enfrentan los jóvenes, ligados a factores familiares, escolares y tecnológicos. El tercero se enmarca en los procesos y prácticas de los docentes y alumnos ante los procesos de innovación curricular y multiculturalidad, así como algunasdeterminaciones inconscientes de los docentes que impactan la vida cotidiana en las instituciones educativas.
