Henry Kendall was a 19th century Australian poet. When he was 15 he went to sea with one of his uncles and was away for about two years. Kendall spent much of his life in government jobs and struggled to make a living as a poet. The small village of Kendall on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales is named after him.
