Bridge Maintenance, Safety, Management, Resilience and Sustainability contains the lectures and papers presented at The Sixth International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management (IABMAS 2012), held in Stresa, Lake Maggiore, Italy, 8-12 July, 2012. This volume consists of a book of extended abstracts (800 pp) Extensive collection of revised expert papers on recent advances in bridge maintenance, safety, management and life-cycle performance, representing a major contribution to the knowledge base of all areas of the field.
Life-Cycle Civil Engineering contains the papers presented at the First International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 08), held in Villa Monastero, Varenna, Lake Como, Italy, 10-14 June, 2008. It consists of a book and a CD-ROM containing 150 papers, including eight keynote papers and 142 technical contributions from 28 countries.
A method of analysis and a computer program SPCFRAME (1989) for the material and geometric non-linear analysis of segmentally erected planar prestressed concrete frames including the time-dependent effects due to load history, temperature history, creep, shrinkage, aging of concrete and relaxation of prestress, is described. The program, based on the finite element method using one-dimensional elements, is capable of predicting the response of these structures throughout their various stages of construction and service load history, as well as through the elastic, cracking, inelastic, and ultimate ranges. Changes in boundary conditions and loads, installation, and removal of frame elements and prestressing tendons can be incorporated in the FE model for segmental bridge construction operations. The program SPCFRAME (1989) has been developed by combining the capabilities of PCFRAME (1977) for the linear analysis of prestressed concrete structures erected in one step and of SFRAME (1986) for the time-dependent analysis of segmentally erected prestressed concrete structures with linear elastic material properties. A number of improved non-linear analysis features has also been added to program SPCFRAME (1989) which is available from the authors. Results from a bridge numerical example are presented to illustrate the capabilities of SPCFRAME (1989). For the covering abstract of the Conference see IRRD Abstract No. 807839.
