Presents the findings of a task force charged with the mandate to make recommendations regarding a more efficient and effective approach to regional development in each of the proposed economic zones of Newfoundland and Labrador. The task force examined two broad areas of concern: organisational structures, and programs and services for community economic development. To achieve its stated goals, the task force held consultative meetings around the province, received submissions from interested parties, and conducted primary and secondary research. This task force report begins with an introduction on community economic development, the task force's consultation process, and the history of approaches to regional economic development in the province. It then presents the task force recommendations in sections covering the use of volunteers, the establishment of economic development zones, the Appendices include zone profiles, findings of an attitude survey, and lists of briefs presented.
