New Albion follows the lives of the employees of the New Albion theatre in London, England, in 1850, through the journal entries of the stage manager, Emlyn Phillips. Fighting its own reputation, hindered by its location and “sketchy” (at best) audience, as well as a police commissioner who demands “morally upstanding” plays, and a playwright so decrepit and addicted to laudanum that the actors of the New Albion are never sure what to expect, the troupe attempts to put on the best show possible, each and every night. The reader is introduced to the entire company of actors, all of whom have their own set of issues, who consistently band together as a community and family in the face of every obstacle - and there are more than a few of those. As the theatre encounters problem after problem, Phillips must decide how much he’s willing to sacrifice for the sake of his passion.

A chronicle of violent fury and compassion, written when Surrealism was still vigorous and doing battle with psychotic "reality," The Journal of Albion Moonlight is the American monument to engagement.
This fascinating book is the first volume in a projected cultural history of the United States, from the earliest English settlements to our own time. It is a history of American folkways as they have changed through time, and it argues a thesis about the importance for the United States of having been British in its cultural origins. While most people in the United States today have no British ancestors, they have assimilated regional cultures which were created by British colonists, even while preserving ethnic identities at the same time. In this sense, nearly all Americans are "Albion's Seed," no matter what their ethnicity may be. The concluding section of this remarkable book explores the ways that regional cultures have continued to dominate national politics from 1789 to 1988, and still help to shape attitudes toward education, government, gender, and violence, on which differences between American regions are greater than between European nations.
Imagine a culture using reason to better understand our world.Imagine a wise land living in harmony with irreplaceable nature.Imagine the blessing of grace to realize our fullest potential.Imagine a nation born in loyalty between people wanting better.Imagine New Albion: The Rebirth of the West.New Albion is an active project to create a new Atlantic homeland in the northeastern quarter of North America, a united effort between Americans and Canadians to restore Western Civilization, honor our European heritage, and defend the timeless values that settled this continent. A peaceful movement based on hyperlocalization with greater respect for our liberties, our environment, and seeking greater unity, this first book on New Albion introduces the need for the concept, our core principles, and explains why only a new nation can restore liberty which neither America nor Canada cannot.
