"Tough guy Marv is out for revenge for the murder of a prostitute named Goldie"--
The story of Sin City '66 revolves around a Las Vegas detective named Frank Gibson who, in August of 1966, becomes involved in the investigation of a suicide of the manager of a prominent local rock band. Gibson, however, comes to believe his death wasn't a suicide, but a murder. After failing to convince his superior at the police department that it may be a murder, Gibson begins his own private investigation into the band manager's death. Along the way he traces the manger's relationship with the band, recounting how he brought them from an obscure bar band to near national prominence. Afterwards he discovers that the band and the manager had a serious falling out, and suspects the band may have been the murderers. Their motive would have been both revenge as well as an effort to recoup major financial losses from his cheating them out of millions of dollars. So come along with detective Gibson's investigation into the case, with all its twists and turns and interesting players. Some of them are very interesting indeed, as the reader will soon discover. See what you think as the evidence piles up along the way to solving the mysterious case of Sin City '66.
Gamblers, Hookers, and Hustlers. That was Las Vegas - back then. I liked it better that way. It was easy. Easy to know where you stood, what to do, and how to do it. Gamblers either won or lost, and those who survived always knew how not to go broke too often. Or in hock too much to the wrong people. And the Hookers? Well, treat a Hooker like a Lady, and you'll get all you want. At a discount. And, sometimes, a lot of freebies. And the Hustlers? Just don't get out-hustled, that's all. If you knew your way around, no one would fuck with you, and that's a fact. At least that's like it was, back then. All of them, too. Tyrone, Mushi, Harry the Bank, the Lieutenant, Johnny Pico, Louis the Loser ... even me and Mellanie. All of us. Just dust in the wind - or so it seems now.
