This Ass'ociation requires the churches composing this Associa' tion to remit the funds intended by them for the promotion of the objects specified in Article 2, and such funds shall be faithfully applied to same as directed by letters from said church. Article 11. Be it enacted by the Cedar Grove Association, that the officers of the boards and officers of the Association shall enjoy all of the benefits of the offices until their successors are qualified for same, by being bonded or installed. C., July 21-22, 1920 Following the praise service, came the Welcome Ad dress. The Pastor being absent, a motion prevailed that the deacons of the church act in his stead in mak ing the brethren welcome, which was done to the great delight of the delegation. On motion that Rev. W. D. Smith respond to the welcome address, Rev. Smith responded in a way that made us all feel glad. On motion Dr. G. W. Watkins, field Missionary, was given twenty minutes to present his work, which he did in an able speech to the delight of all. By motion, a Committee on Hours was appointed consisting the Pastor and Deacons of the church. (see report of Committee.) Excerpt from Minutes of the Fifty-Seventh Annual Session of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association: Which Convened With the Warren's Chapel Baptist Church, Prospect Hill, Caswell County, North Carolina, August 7th, 8th, and 9th, 1924 We, the Board of Trustees beg leave to make the following report: We recommend that each Church raise Ten Cents per member every three months and the same be sent to the Banking Committee for the benefit of our School at Roxboro. We further recommend that each Church send as much money as it can on Thanksgiving Day. Further recommend that each Ordained Min ister in our bounds bring or send to our School on opening day, which is the 15th of September, 1925, and each Licensed Preacher bring or send Further, that we have our School incorporated, with privilege of doing the Grade Work necessary. C., August 7, 8 and 9, 1918 You. Rev. G. A. Currie then read hymn No. 149. Scripture reading, Luke 5 1-9. Prayer was offered by Rev. Luther Brad sher. Bro. B. Theo. Hairstone, editor and proprietor of the Headlight, with much melody and earnestness sang the Revela tion song. Then the regular appointees gave way to Rev. S. B. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Reidsville, N. C. After an introduction. Rev. Brown was ready, watching and waiting, Subject: Too Many Churches. He said, in part: Don't you get mad because I am going to preach the gospel. If you have been living crooked just straighten up. Chri'st set up only one church, and if there are others, there are t'oo many. All denominations shall be broken up and have one church. J ereboam established a kind of religion, but it could not stand. Every denomination, except three, came out of the Baptist Church. Rev. Brown preached a great sermon. It met with approval from all the people. At the close of the sermon prayer was offered by Rev. Wm. Morton. A collection was lifted by Revs. S. Wade and J. H. Love. Amount raised, $10.
