While we recognize that the world is the parish of Methodism, and are anxious to see every department Of its work, both at home and abroad, in the highest possible state Of prosperity, as a Conference we feel it incumbent upon us to have special care for the proper culture, conservation and growth of that portion of the parish allotted us - viz., the territory occupied by the Maine Conference. Resolved, 2. We regret exceedingly that some charges within our bounds, Of first importance to Methodism, have been suffered to drag out a most precarious existence for a long term Of years; and have been brought to the very verge Of dis solution for lack Of interest and aid upon the part of the Conference; and notably Auburn charge.
