The Paine-Mills Family Papers is a small collection relating to the history of two Rochester-area families over a 100-year period. The main piece is a small booklet by Paul M. Paine, published in 1896 for the Historical Society of Athens, NY, called "The Paines of Athens. Their Ancestors and Descendants," along with the notes compiled for this document. The family includes several University of Rochester alumni: William Theodore Mills (UR 1872), another William Theodore Mills (UR 1900), and Buell Paine Mills (UR 1898), father of Allen Paine Mills. The collection also includes accounts, corespondence, clippings, etc.
This collection consists of correspondence and papers of the Reverend William Mills and the notebooks and other papers of his son, Samuel Dillion Mills.
