In his Museum of Contemporary African Art he presents 12 different rooms which were produced separately for different institutions in several countries: for example, the Library for the Witte de With in Rotterdam, the Game Room for the SMAK in Ghent, the Wedding Room for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Humanist Space for the documenta 11 in Kassel, the Salon for the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Museum Restaurant for the W139 in Amsterdam. This title is published alongside the exhibition of the same name, and it is the first time the exhibit has been shown in its entirety. Initiated by Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany it went on to Museum De Paviljoens, Netherlands in 2009 and then to Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno, Las Palmas, Canary Islands in 2010. The "Museum of Contemporary African Art" is an art installation conceived by the artist Meschac Gaba in 1997. This book documents the first six rooms of the museum (there were to be twelve) and was published with the display of the 7th room of the museum, the Library, at the Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam in 2001.
