This book is the proceeding of the Maritime, Economics, and Business International Conference (MEBIC 2021) that was successfully held on 24-25 September 2021 using an online platform. The conference was mainly organized by the Faculty of Economics Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (FE UMRAH). This conference aims to provide a platform for academics and practitioners around the world to share ideas and knowledge, as well as promoting research in Blue Economy through paper presentation. The theme of MEBIC 2021 was “Marine-Sociopreneurship: Real Action for Blue Economy”. The papers are classified into 6 subthemes, namely Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises; Blue Economy Supporting Ecosystems; Financial Institution for Blue Economy; Adaptive MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) Business; Islamic Financing Models for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises; and Utilization of Technology in Blue Economy. The proceeding consists of 17 high-quality papers that were selected. Aside from the high quality technical paper presentations, the technical program also featured a keynote speaker and six invited speakers. The keynote speaker was Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Republic of Indonesia). The invited speakers were Prof. Gunter Pauli from Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI), Belgium; Prof. M. Kabir Hassan from University of New Orleans, USA; Prof. Henri Jean-Marie Dou from University of Aix-Marseille, France; Dr. Zhiwei Zhang from First Institute of Oceanography, China; Elvia R. Shauki, Ph.D. from University of South Australia, Australia; and Dr. M. Mahbubi Ali from International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies, Malaysia. Finally, we would like to express the greatest thanks to all colleagues in the steering and organizing committee for their cooperation in administering and arranging the conference as well as reviewers for their academic works and commitment to reviewing papers.
Zusammenfassung: This edited volume encompasses chapters on novel and innovative research in the applications of leading digital technologies in an accessible and engaging way. By utilising cutting edge and ever progressive technology in visualization, it will enhance our understanding and application in our everyday lives. This volume shows how we can use Extended Reality, 3D animations and serious games to benefit the learner, educator, clinician, patient, parent and carer. Visualization techniques like Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality and show how they can be utilised to improve training and understanding of anatomy, surgery, and clinical assessment. This is covered specifically for emergency practitioners in enhancing their understanding of ECG's for potential myocardial infarction by using augmented reality. From a translational medicine perspective and pre-operative pediatric surgical planning, the benefits of augmented reality are examined as to what might be found intra-operatively from imaging techniques. Educational applications of digital technologies using serious games and Extended Reality are examined. We show how Mixed Reality can aid understanding in cellular anatomy for our learners and researchers alike. We also show how serious games can have applications in diverse areas like parasite infections and neuroanatomy education and training. Finally, from a clinical perspective, the use of 3D animations and their applications is discussed for vertebral fractures and increasing parent/carer awareness through interactive applications. Also, the use of 3D animations in cerebral magnetic resonance angiography for global education highlights the great benefits of these tools and technologies. There is something for the researcher, clinician, educator, patient, and carer as we explore novel technologies. These are applied locally, nationally and globally as we advance our understanding of the world changing influence that digital technologies have on our day-to-day life

An urgent study on how punitive immigration policies undermine the health of Latinx immigrants Of the approximately 20 million noncitizens currently living in the United States, nearly half are “undocumented,” which means they are excluded from many public benefits, including health care coverage. Additionally, many authorized immigrants are barred from certain public benefits, including health benefits, for their first five years in the United States. These exclusions often lead many immigrants, particularly those who are Latinx, to avoid seeking health care out of fear of deportation, detention, and other immigration enforcement consequences. Medical Legal Violence tells the stories of some of these immigrants and how anti-immigrant politics in the United States increasingly undermine health care for Latinx noncitizens in ways that deepen health inequalities while upholding economic exploitation and white supremacy. Meredith Van Natta provides a first-hand account of how such immigrants made life and death decisions with their doctors and other clinic workers before and after the 2016 election. Drawing from rich ethnographic observations and in-depth interviews in three states during the Trump presidency, Van Natta demonstrates how anti-immigrant laws are changing the way Latinx immigrants and their doctors weigh illness and injury against patients’ personal and family security. The book also evaluates the role of safety-net health care workers who have helped noncitizen patients navigate this unstable political landscape despite perceiving a rise in anti-immigrant surveillance in the health care spaces where they work. As anti-immigrant rhetoric intensifies, Medical Legal Violence sheds light on the real consequences of anti-immigrant laws on the health of Latinx noncitizens, and how these laws create a predictable humanitarian disaster in immigrant communities throughout the country and beyond its borders. Van Natta asks how things might be different if we begin to learn from this history rather than continuously repeat it.
