Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-Man and Superman is a four-act drama written by George Bernard Shaw in 1903. The series was written in response to a call for Shaw to write a play based on the Don Juan theme. Man and Superman opened at the Royal Court Theater in London on May 23, 1905, but omitted the third act. Part of the act, Don Juan in Hell (Act 3, Scene 2), was performed when the drama was performed on June 4, 1907 in the Royal Court. The play was not performed in its entirety until 1915, when the Traveling Repertoire Company played at the Lyceum Theater, Edinburgh. Mr. Whitefield died recently, and his will indicates that his daughter Ann should be cared for by two men, Roebuck Ramsden and John Tanner. Ramsden, a venerable old man, mistrusts John Tanner, an eloquent young man with revolutionary ideas.Shaw's stage directions describe him as "prodigiously fluent in speech, restless, excitable (check nasal snort and restless blue eye, only thirty-second of an inch too open), possibly a little crazy." Despite what Ramsden says, Ann accepts Tanner as her guardian, although Tanner doesn't want the position at all. He also challenges Tanner's revolutionary beliefs with his own ideas.
Renaissance man George Bernard Shaw dabbled in economics, criticism and activism, but was best known for his large body of dramatic work, including his 1903 masterpiece Man and Superman. Dedicated to developing fully fleshed-out characters, Shaw wrote The Revolutionist's Handbook and Pocket Companion in the guise of the protagonist of Man and Superman, John Tanner. The booklet lays out the character's philosophy and political views.
A dramatic comedy combines high comedy with social commentary in deflating misconceptions about love and warfare.
