In The 5 Elements of The Fear of the Lord, author Corey Jackson explains what it means to "walk in the Fear of the Lord." While searching for the answers to his own questions about having fear of God, Jackson turned to the Bible for understanding. Using the word of God, Jackson defines the Fear of the Lord and discusses the five elements of that fear: wisdom, discipline, humility, obedience, and blessing. Explore what it truly means to walk in the Fear of the Lord, and how this fear can promote spiritual growth. Study what the Scriptures say and understand what they mean to you. You should not feel terror towards God, nor should you doubt His love. Instead, The 5 Elements of The Fear of the Lord shows how walking in the Fear of the Lord will strengthen your faith and relationship with God.
The Lord's Day Alliance of the United States was founded in 1888. That year representatives of six major Protestant denominations met in Washington, D.C. and organized the American Sabbath Union. This name was later changed to the Lord's Day Alliance. The Alliance is the only national organization whose sole purpose is the maintenance and cultivation of the first day of the week as a time for rest, worship, Christian education, and spiritual renewal.
One Lord, One Faith is a plea and plan to re-envision the Church as a broad, cross-denominational community with a shared faith in the Christ of the Gospel. It both affirms the place and inevitability of individual denominational traditions, and also provides a grid from which to distinguish those denominational traditions from the core of historical orthodoxy shared by the entire Christian community. The book seeks to distinguish denominationalism from sectarianism, and identifies sectarianism as the true enemy of historic catholicity.
Both compellingly and clearly, Patrick D. Miller introduces biblical prayer in all its varied forms and from different angles: the prayers of Israel's neighbors, the names of God in prayer, prayers for help, the response of God, praise, the prayers of women, confession and penitence, prayers for others, blessing and curse, and Jesus and Paul at prayer. The perspective throughout is that of faith—and its relation to prayer and theology. The result is a book of importance for church members, students, scholars, and others.
When Christ Jesus gave us the Lords Prayer, he encapsulated eternal principles already revealed in the Old Testament. Exploring the Seven Elements of the Lords Prayer is a journey that reveals those principles about our proper relationship with God, His nature, what we must do to enter the kingdom, find purpose, and bring internal peace, healing, and comfort. It can be read individually and in a group study. Each of the twelve chapters includes tough questions for contemplation and discussion that will challenge you and help you grow in your faith. Erik does a thorough work of reminding us of the importance of allowing ourselves to be transformed and that an awesome God includes us in His purposes as part of His kingdom. Excerpt from foreword by Pastor Phil Scott, Regional Director, Allegheny Region Conference of the Churches of God Eriks approach is not theological or academic. Rather, he takes a unique look at the Model Prayer with a desire for discovery. I found it most refreshing. Enjoy and be inspired. John O. Yoder, BA, Pastor and Church Planter
