Gaynell Coleman never considered writing nor did she set out to write a bookshe struggled for years to communicate with others. She never gave up on improving her communication skills. She knew deep within that she had the ability; however, she struggled with anger issues, which hindered her success of improving her interpersonal effectiveness. She remained focused on her goals. In 1979 Coleman landed a job at the public library where she shelved books returned by patrons. She discovered the inspirational section where the possibility for learning and improving herself were endless. And now, in Little Prayers, Big Impact, she is sharing part of her story to help you become all that you were created to be. Every person is born with a yearning to be loved, acknowledged, and accepted for who they are. The longing is like a hole in your heart that when the right connection is made there is nothing and no one that can ever sever it. You know that you are complete and have been made whole. The void has been filled because the things that once mattered, such as material possessions, accumulation of wealth, job status, or physical appearances have little meaning. Those things that once disturbed you cannot shake the foundation of which you stand. Little Prayers, Big Impact is your road map to wholeness. It is the key to delayering to get to the heart of the real you. Little Prayers, Big Impact will inspire you. It will encourage you. It will change your life.
For Christian parents eager to see their children come closer to the Lord, Cheri Fuller's When Children Pray is a godsend. There's no better testament to the power and effectiveness of children's prayers than these stories of how God answers the prayers of our children and youth. Most important, this book prepares parents to teach their children how to pray -- not merely the mechanics, but understanding and claiming the power of their heavenly Father through prayer. Busy parents and those with questions about their own prayer commitments will find When Children Pray, now in an updated, contemporary cover, especially helpful in passing on a legacy of faith to the next generation.
When children are engaged, they learn. Creativity captures their curiosity and helps the truth of God's Word to sink deeply into the soil of their hearts. And God is faithful. He will continue to water and care for those seeds until they produce a harvest. In this book, you will find creative, dynamic object lessons that let children participate in their learning. They draw on lessons from science, stories, popular games and even a little "magic," and they are always firmly rooted in truth from God's Word. Both new teachers and old will find these lessons easy to use and fun to deliver. Children will want to share what they learn with their families and friends, and they will be excited to see what you are going to teach them next week!
Many payers go without answered, so I decided to seek the face of God to know how Christians will be able to get their prayers answered. Since I became a Christian in August 1984, I have seen most of my prayers answered in a very special way, so I would like to share with you some of the secrets I learned in getting my prayers answered. Our God is a prayer-answering God. First, we must have faith in God and trust that He is prepared to answer when we call on Him. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb 11:6). Prayer is diligently seeking the face of God, so if we are going to pray, then we should believe that God is going to listen and answer our prayer.
Parents want the best for their children and they want to give them the best. But what is the most important gift they can give their children? A university education? A car? Or perhaps a good value system? While all of these have merit, the greatest gift parents can give their children is to teach them to develop a relationship with their heavenly Father through prayer. In TEACHING CHILDREN HOW TO PRAY Anne McFarlane masterfully addresses this very important topic – the prayer life of parents and children. She looks at the subject from various angles, considers the classic and difficult questions that the topic elicits, but also provides concrete, practical and understandable answers to the questions children often have.
