The glossary comprises the legal terms contained in the Revised Statues of Canada (1985) and in the first four supplements thereto. Altogether, nearly 20,000 pages of federal legislation were scanned for this project.
This publication contains approximately one thousand terms taken from relevant sources available in the field. These terms were documented in the main constitutional decisions as well as in other works, the titles of which are listed at the end of this publication.
The bulletin contains approximately 6000 bilingual definitions taken not only from the definitions at the beginning of the statutes, but also from the body of the statutes. It includes definitions which simply refer to sections of an act, as these may be useful in understanding terms specific to federal administration.

The Vocabulary of Government Finance Management is a complete revision of the Budgetary, Accounting and Financial Vocabulary published in 1987. This new reference work contains 2 900 entries, including some 2 400 concepts and 920 definitions. It reflects new ways of doing business and new realities in the federal Public Service relating to financial administration.
This glossary is the third, revised and enlarged edition of the Taxation Glossary. The first edition, published in 1983 as a working document, contained mostly terms extracted from the Income Tax Act and Regulations. The second edition, published in 1988, also contained new terms taken from the White Paper on Tax reform. This edition contains 3 260 entries, including 285 additional terms, taken mainly from Bill C-139, passed on August 29, 1988, and from the draft legislation on Goods and Services Tax.
