Love, the essential ingredient that binds everything bringing a whole new fathom to our respective lives. We have yet to truly scratch the surface or even digest or comprehend its alluring everlasting power. In our childhood, we are all attracted by the big book that yields simple defining words beside the colourful images that are designed to prepare us for life. These fascinating colours and words will reign forever in our conscience. I have tried to capture that youthful book element and hope that it holds with the readers attention. That the words and photos ring true to the aspects o our beautiful life within the auspices of love. From an early age I was mentored by a great man, wise and humble in his approach to life. He felt it his duty to inform me that the sole purpose of life was about each individual identifying themselves with the love. Further still, that life without the love essence was wasteful and meaningless, that we should essentially be educated in the art of love. I strove in my own haphazard way to understand eventually, absorbing some of his remarks and pondering long and hard on them. The end result is a book striking in its wording and illustrated images, as I have attempted to encompass every facet of the life that is love. I hope that my own words accompanied with the photos contain an imaginative, invigorating, political and philosophical element, some of which are humorous but all laced with the undercurrent of love.
Striking a perfect balance between heartfelt emotions and spot-on humor, this debut features a pop-culture enthusiast protagonist with an unforgettable voice sure to resonate with readers. Alice had her whole summer planned. Nonstop all-you-can-eat buffets while marathoning her favorite TV shows (best friends totally included) with the smallest dash of adulting—working at the library to pay her share of the rent. The only thing missing from her perfect plan? Her girlfriend (who ended things when Alice confessed she's asexual). Alice is done with dating—no thank you, do not pass go, stick a fork in her, done. But then Alice meets Takumi and she can’t stop thinking about him or the rom com-grade romance feels she did not ask for (uncertainty, butterflies, and swoons, oh my!). When her blissful summer takes an unexpected turn and Takumi becomes her knight with a shiny library-employee badge (close enough), Alice has to decide if she’s willing to risk their friendship for a love that might not be reciprocated—or understood. Claire Kann’s debut novel Let’s Talk About Love, chosen by readers like you for Macmillan's young adult imprint Swoon Reads, gracefully explores the struggle with emerging adulthood and the complicated line between friendship and what it might mean to be something more. Praise for Let’s Talk About Love from the Swoon Reads community: “A sweet and beautiful journey about self-discovery and identity!” —Macy Filia, reader on SwoonReads.com “There aren't many novels that have asexual characters and it's something people need more of.” —Alice, reader on SwoonReads.com “I want this on my shelf where I can admire it every day.” —Kiara, reader on SwoonReads.com
For his 2007 critically acclaimed 33 1/3 series title, Let's Talk About Love, Carl Wilson went on a quest to find his inner Céline Dion fan and explore how we define ourselves by what we call good and bad, what we love and what we hate. At once among the most widely beloved and most reviled and lampooned pop stars of the past few decades, Céline Dion's critics call her mawkish and overblown while millions of fans around the world adore her “huge pipes” and even bigger feelings. How can anyone say which side is right? This new, expanded edition goes even further, calling on thirteen prominent writers and musicians to respond to themes ranging from sentiment and kitsch to cultural capital and musical snobbery. The original text is followed by lively arguments and stories from Nick Hornby, Krist Novoselic, Ann Powers, Mary Gaitskill, James Franco, Sheila Heti and others. In a new afterword, Carl Wilson examines recent cultural changes in love and hate, including the impact of technology and social media on how taste works (or doesn't) in the 21st century.

This story collection presents different ideas, passions and feelings those throw light on a different world of love. If love could be found in human shapes then definitely it would look like characters of Let's Love Once Again. Love as a tender feeling like first down power of rain, love as a wild passion or love as an internal journey has been portrayed. Love Knocks at the doors of all the hearts in one of the above forms. However there are very few who can witness and respect all the colours of love. The book is a noble journey, embellished with tender feelings of love. The book is for all those who are ready to live their aspirations, frustrations and accomplishments. This is for the people who have guts to accept their broken dreams gloriously and to see new dreams.

What constitutes a love poem? What makes a good marriage? How can one explain fifty years of amiable, loving, committed companionship that carries no caveats and no regrets? How can one enumerate, let alone explain, the legion shapes and shades and manifestations by which love reveals itself? These poems in An Angel of the First Degree are all, significantly, love poems. Many of the poems are incidental in that they were written in the busyness of life, the way many things appear in the busyness of life. Some began as a way to describe the joys of everyday togetherness. Some of the poems are humble; such are the Valentine’s Day poems. Some of the poems, the wedding poems, are grand, written in celebration and commemoration. These poems would not express honest aspirations for marriage had they not been grounded in my own experience, in my own marriage to the woman who is the subject, object, and primary reader of these poems. Thus, all these poems must be read as love poems for my lifelong friend and companion, mother of my children, my guardian angel, love of my life.
A collection of poetry written based on my journey with love, infatuation and, pain. The highs, lows and emotional experiences and, how I view it all. The pureness of my emotions I drowned in this book. This is me and I give it to you with love.
