From the Author: I'm so glad you are here! I am guessing that you love cooking and recipes! A little about me...I am a woman who's life is full of family, friends, coffee, cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, gardening, kayaking and biking all wrapped together with my faith in God. My husband Lee and I have four children, Robyn, Megan, Matthew and Moriah with amazing spouses and 3 grandchildren. My love of cooking, baking, gardening and sewing began back on my grandparents farm when I was around 8 years old. My grandma Edna was always keeping me busy! My mother Karon has also been a huge inspiration and can make the best pies around! She's always been my biggest cheerleader! I developed my love of cookbooks at an early age from my mom's collection. I would find myself reading them from cover to cover. I now find myself with a beloved library collection of over 2000 cookbooks from all genres! I Love food with FLAVOR...and acquired the name "Flavorgirl"! What you will find in this book are recipes with Flavor, Tested & Clear Instructions, Recipes taken from ordinary to extraordinary in the best possible ways! Written for the beginner and experienced cook. Little stories or flavor profiles accompany each recipe and most have a small picture. (In a survey my followers said keep the pictures small and give us ALL the recipes!) This cookbook will be a classic for you and make a great gift. As a Culinary Specialist for a large food corporation for many years, and a recipe contester, I found myself experimenting and developing recipes consistently at work and at home. In 2010 I entered the Pillsbury "Million Dollar Bake-Off" Contest and was selected as one of the 100 finalists (with over 50,000 entries) for my "Double Chocolate- Orange Scones" recipe. (p. 317) What an amazing experience. I went on to create recipes, food photography, and articles for Taste of Home, Better Homes & Gardens, Live IT!, Reminiscence Magazines. I started baking for my community with Pop-Up Shoppe's and custom orders, and a lot of fundraisers! I am currently published in 15 different cookbooks and have been a Field Editor for Cooking Club of America and Taste of Home. I love speaking engagements to share my passion for recipes and have had the privilege to be a guest for WCCO-4, KSAX-Alexandria, PBS-Appleton/POSTCARDS, Minneapolis Star Tribune-TASTE, West Central Tribune, Lakes Area Review and Senior Perspectives as well as Keynote Speaker and Demonstrator for Taste of Home Cooking School in Willmar, MN. We have recently moved from West Central Minnesota to Northern Minnesota, near Nisswa, for retirement, giving me time to finally finish this Cookbook. Life has been one culinary experience after another for me. I am grateful and humbled by the people who have inspired me on my journey to create The Legacy Table Cookbook! Michelle
