Voici le tableau de ces matieres premieres avec leur lieu d'origine: Terres pour la composition de la pate, provenance: Idzumi-yama;-Ji-hiki-tsuchi, terre pour le rachevage: meme provenance; Pour la glacure on lire les composants de ridzumi-yama et aussi de Shiragawa-yama (Arila); Terres et emaux pour craqueles, provenance: Shiragawa-yama; Enfin une argile refractaire servant a la fabrication des supports. Pour les moules on emploie le gypse comme en Europe. Ces matieres sont broyees au pilon, pulverisees, tamisees, puis faconnees en pains pretes a l'usage, etc., comme chez nous. La cuisson est de douze heures comprenant sept heures de grand feu. Dans la preparation de l'oxyde de cobalt, qui se fait sur place, je remarque que l'on delaie le minerai a l'etat de pate avec une infusion de the, lequel est tres riche en manganese, comme on sait. La glacure se compose d'argile blanche (provenance ci-dessus) et de cendre du Dislylium racemosum (provenance: Satsuma). Nous preciserons ce produit tout a l'heure. On obtient le vert celadon en ajoutant un peu de cobalt a cette glacure. Pour attendrir on emploie la craie. Voici les formules comprenant les proportions et produits qui servent a composer les couleurs: Rouge: oxyde rouge de fer, une partie; verre pulverise, huit parties et demie. Jaune: sulfate d'antimoine, huit parties; poudre de plomb, quarante; verre pulverise, deux cents. Vert: vert-de-gris, six parties et demie; poudre de plomb, six; verre, ..
