I wrote this book because I identify with Josie in so many ways and wanted to show that in spite of betrayal and broken trust, relationships and families can be healed and restored. Reconciliation is possible even though it may not be easy to accomplish. Lies can be forgiven and love can bloom within the forgiveness of our Heavenly Father. I hope this story will help others struggling with these issues and many more. I love Josie and hope readers will as well.
Father Tony should have never been a priest. With the family money, he could have pursued his interest in literature or worked with young boys-only free of all those Church strictures. But there was no priest in the family, so when his immigrant grandmother beheld a peculiar mark on his newborn head and declared it a sign from God, his destiny was set. But those marked by God are often marked by men as well: Tony's jealous uncle will never forgive him for finding favor with the old woman. And with his ties to the city's Catholic hierarchy, he'll plot to destroy his nephew if it takes forever.
Waltz, tango, foxtrot…murder? Not much has changed about Selena’s fussy, finicky, magical talking cat, Archie. Except now, instead of roaming Globe’s streets and alleys on four feet. he’s kicking up two very human heels at a ballroom dance competition with his fiancée, Victoria. Selena couldn’t be happier for her formerly furry friend. Stepping Stars could be the gateway to Archie’s unfulfilled dreams. But when a competitor is found dead in Archie's costume trunk — sporting some very strange wounds — the future he’s longed for is threatened…because witnesses saw him claws-out with the victim just hours earlier. Though the evidence is flimsy at best, Selena goes straight to her divination tools to look for clues. Her Tarot cards and pendulum seem to point nowhere, but she’s sure of one thing. Her instincts never lie — and the killer could be using glitz, glamour, and bright lights to cover his tracks. KEYWORDS: witch, warlock, wizard, sorcerer, psychic, medium, telepath, cop hero, sheriff, detective, police, tarot, crystal ball, wicca, small town romance, small town mystery, cat mystery, magic spell, curse, fish out of water, opposites attract, cozy mystery, cozy cat mystery, cozy witch mystery
The small town of Globe, Arizona, is in a world of trouble when Selena Marx, former witch to the stars — all right, psychic advisor to aspiring actors and actresses — lands there after running afoul of the leader of the Greater Los Angeles Necromancers’ Guild. All she wants is to lead a quiet life…or at least as quiet as the cursed cat she inherits when she buys her new home will allow. Unfortunately, people start turning up dead, and she attracts the attention of Calvin Standingbear, the chief of police for the local San Ramon Apache tribe. More mayhem ensues as the series continues! Hedgewitch for Hire is a lighthearted small town mystery series with an overarching romance subplot carries throughout the books. This boxed set includes the first three books in the Hedgewitch for Hire paranormal cozy series: Grave Mistake Hedgewitch Selena runs to Arizona to escape Lucien, a slimy, celebrity-schmoozing sorcerer. Just as she’s meeting the locals — including hunky Calvin Standingbear — Lucien tracks her down…then disappears. When one of Lucien’s acolytes is killed. Selena and Calvin race against time before a too-close-for-comfort evil cuts her own life short. Social Medium Becoming an Instagram star sounded like a good way to promote Selena’s metaphysical shop, but when the dark side of social media rears its ugly head, she’s going to need all the friends she can get, including the secretive police chief Calvin Standingbear. Because online witch rivalries can be murder. Household Demons When Selena’s parents buy the most haunted Victorian mansion in town, she checks it out— and senses nothing. But the unholy racket tells her something is infesting this house. When backup arrives, the house strikes back. Now her parents are murder suspects…and Selena could be the mansion’s next victim. "Lisa Plumley creates charming characters. Her books are a delight!" -- USA Today best-selling author Rachel Gibson USA Today bestselling author Lisa Plumley does it again with another sparkling, sexy novel of crazy coincidences—and crazier love... About the book...Her name was Josie, she was a showgirl......until the night she Heimliched a martini olive out of fabulously wealthy and eccentric casino owner Tallulah Carlyle. Now Josie Day—proud new owner of one of Tallulah's spare estates—is leaving Vegas behind for...Donovan's Corner, Arizona? Ironically, her "reward" has brought her right back to the dusty hometown she thought she'd left behind forever. Still, Josie's ready to prove there's more to her than feathers and a wicked rumba. She plans to sell the old mansion and use the profits to open a dance school. But first, she'll have to figure out some fancy footwork to avoid knocking heads—and other things—with caretaker and local bad boy Luke Donovan... It isn't every day a woman like Josie comes strutting into town—which is fortunate, since her presence on the estate has Luke hotter and more bothered than he's been since, well, ever. He's a little annoyed with his Aunt Tallulah, though. This was supposed to be his property to renovate and sell—an opportunity to make good after being cut off from the family fortune. But Josie doesn't have to know that...at least not until Luke figures out a way to make both their dreams come true—and prove that Vegas isn't the only place where taking a chance can change everything... What people are saying..."In this heartwarming, often humorous story, the feisty Josie proves that you can go home again --if you've got the right stuff. And once again, the talented Plumley, whose books include Perfect Switch, proves that when it comes to writing romantic comedy, few do it better." --Booklist (starred review) "Secrets, misunderstandings, and miscommunications complicate this bright, amusing story, which takes a pair of protagonists with opposing goals, adds a host of family upheavals, and lets the off-beat tale unfold. For readers who like their contemporaries with up-front humor, sassy dialog, and small-town settings." --Library Journal "Turning not-so-perfect, unlikely characters into romance heroes and heroines is Lisa Plumley's forte, and she once again delivers a zany cast who will make you laugh. If you want a light romance that will have you chuckling every few pages, Josie Day Is Coming Home won't disappoint you." --The State newspaper "Plumley's story is lighthearted, with some serious tug-at-the-heart moments. Josie is upbeat and unbeatable, while Luke is determined and just the sort of guy Josie needs to make that happily ever after ending." --The Oakland Press "Josie Day is a delight. Plumley writes her lead character using determination, beauty, and notorious appeal. Luke Donovan is simply: sexy, dangerous and fun. They are a wonderful couple." --Contemporary Romance Writers
One Man Had All The Answers Josie Blume's earliest memories were of an eccentric mother who hid her three daughters away from prying eyes and scared off trespassers with a gun. Josie's bizarre childhood had to be the explanation for her miserable track record with the opposite sex. That's why the spunky interior designer needed to piece together her family puzzle, even though it meant finding the father who'd rejected her at birth—and who might reject her again. As always, her buddy Gabe Thomas was beside her every step of the way. Yet the closer she got to the truth, the more confusing things became. Of course, passion was something women shared with men—but passion with your best male friend? Heartland Sisters—together again.
Josephine (Josie) Parker’s birthday is coming up, which means she’ll have to leave the Chicago orphanage where she’s lived her entire life. With nowhere to go and no future to look forward to, she agrees to become a mail-order bride to Cooper Thompson, a rancher in Coldwater Creek, Montana. Cooper Thompson is happy with his life. He has his work, his family, and enough money to get by. He doesn’t need – or want – anything more, especially a wife. When Josie arrives in Montana, she’s shocked to learn that Cooper’s sister actually wrote the letter, and that he knows nothing about it. Cooper is furious when he discovers what his sister has done, but once he learns why she did it, he reluctantly offers to marry Josie. Is Josie destined to be an unwanted bride forever? Or can she and Cooper build a life together despite the circumstances that brought them together?
