The Lord has been teaching me which battles are mine and which are not. One of the battles I have been fighting is being superwoman instead of a Godly woman. I want everything in order and done right. Yet I haven't asked God how, why, what, or where to begin. I just been basically doing everything in my own strength to the point I am tired and wore out. Precious Lord take my hand, lead me on and let me stand............yes that's me. We are living in a time where its time for us as women to stand up and rise. We must take each other by the hand and help each other to be all we can be with Christ Jesus in our hearts. We need to know what God is saying to our nation, to our community, to our church. What is He saying to our domestic violence victims, to the single mother that is trying to raise children on her own, little girls who have been sexually, emotionally, psychologically abused, and to those who have no faith? Politics does not define the heart of God. He loves people. He cries over people. He sent His Son to die for people. Women, what are we doing with our voice? We have a circle of influence. Are we using it for God not just in the sacred place, but in the secular place, as well? The Spirit of the Lord is upon us. Its Ok We Don't Have To Be Superwoman.......But a Godly Woman of Strength..........................................................

So many days as a wife, mother, daughter, volunteer and business owner; people will call me Superwoman. Why? Is it because I have an amazing and glamorous lifestyle that I want others to be envious of? Is it because I have learned to bend space and time to fold to my will so that I can make miracles happen? Or is it because I simply have perfected the title and person known as the stay at home mom? The answer is none of the above. God placed it on my heart to share how I get it all done in a day, week, month, and year. How have I learned how to be in 3 places at once and how yes I even fail from time to time. This isn't a how to book that will unlock all the secrets of a stay at home mom. No this is a book that will tell you the tricks I have learned. I also share the failures that I have as a Mom, and want you to know that is it 100% OK to fail from time to time . We are human, we are women, and we are busy. Find a roadmap to being a Godly woman you are proud to be within the pages of this book. Who knows, people might start calling you Superwoman. But whatever you do, please don't call me Superwoman unless you plan to call yourself one first.
This book is for all of us women who have a challenging time with everyday life. In my first book "It's Ok You Don't Have to Be Superwoman" , I talked about how we as women try to be everything to everybody and often leave out God. We become so overwhelmed that we developed the superwoman syndrome. This next installment shows you how and encourages us to take off the cape and make life easier by becoming Godly Women.
Superwoman is alive and well and strutting around in her stilettos, sabotaging our right to an imperfect life. She is feeding our insecurities, she is damaging our self belief, she is sabotaging our businesses, our careers and our relationships and she is NOT a great life model to pass on to our daughters. She is what happens when we buy into the modern myth of ‘having it all’ and she has to go! She empowers us to stay small; shop for things we don’t need; obsess over eternal youth and multi task within an inch of emotional exhaustion on a daily basis. Jane has spent the past 10 years empowering and inspiring thousands of women to step up and shine through her aspirational brand The Well Heeled Divas and has seen far too many Superwomen in meltdown! There is a better place to live. One where your authentic soul is nurtured, your vulnerability is nourished and you are allowed to be you. Controlling everything does not give you power, it gives you a blinding headache! We need to learn to let go, say no, accept help, stop controlling everything, recognise the power of vulnerability and stop beating ourselves up for failing to hit perfect 24/7. This book uncovers how Superwoman is showing up in our professional life, our businesses, our marriages, in our role as mothers, in our attraction strategy and in our identity. It is a call out to women everywhere to be kinder to ourselves and each other and to reclaim our feminine power.
Do you feel daily pressure to keep pushing yourself even when you're stressed and exhausted? It's time to leave Superwoman in the movies, where she belongs, and say hello to being a Super Woman—the best, most productive and balanced version of the hero you already are. For years—maybe your entire life—you've been told that success means having it all and doing it all. But working more and harder is holding you back, not moving you forward. In Becoming Super Woman, New York Times bestselling author Nicole Lapin redefines what it means to be a woman who "has it all"—and shows you how to find lasting success by your own definition, on your own terms. Nicole candidly shares her own story of career burnout and an emergency hospitalization that prompted her to take her mental health seriously for the first time ever. Along the way, she discovered that not only was this priority shift not a defeat, it was the key to unlocking even greater achievements. In her third and most personal book yet, Nicole lays out an actionable, 12-step plan to guide you in taking control and becoming the hero of your own story, with the skills it takes to be a real Super Woman—skills we should (but often don't) learn growing up, from productivity hacks to boundary setting. She makes the case that the real secret to success doesn't hinge on the hustle or degrees you have but in "putting on your own oxygen mask before helping others." In fact, self-care is the biggest asset or liability in our careers—when it's on-point it can help us soar, and when it's neglected it can bring us down faster than anything else. Entertaining, honest, and life-changing, Becoming Super Woman shows you how to banish burnout, ward off a breakdown, and achieve true balance … finally.
Explores the production, representation, and reception of prominent female superheroes in mainstream superhero comics, television shows, and films.
The book begins by raising a thoughtful question, "Can women have it all, family, work and everything in between?" If yes, then are women ‘superwomen’? More importantly, what or who is a ‘superwoman’? In other words, this book discusses the role of contemporary women in today’s modern career world and its myriad of challenges, and in turn explores the nuanced role of millennial women and provides insights into how women juggle demands at home and at work; family and career management. Using case studies from interviews with two hundred women, the authors draw on data from women themselves to explore how they navigate their daily lives to achieve work-life balance. This book will motivate readers to reframe their roles at home and in the workplace and hopefully help them reclaim control in their career/family journeys. This book is also an essential guide to thought leadership for women in leadership positions or aspiring to be in leadership positions. Finally, this book will demystify gender roles in the workplace and at home, enabling women of all ages and backgrounds to embark on their career with confidence. This book will motivate younger women who are embarking on their first career and looking to develop the inner leadership that helps them thrive in life.
Sometimes, those who seemed to have made it to the top are actually just starting to figure things out.Have you been striving for perfection while juggling roles galore? Are you naturally ambitious, constantly seeking to develop and improve yourself so you are always valued and sought out?Did you eventually achieve success according to society's standards, obtaining accolades of degrees, high-status titles, externally perfect relationships, and other outer reflections of success? Meanwhile, do you hide and feel ashamed about the stress, moodiness, and glaringly large void of low self-worth which lurks beneath the surface? With anecdotes and reflections of how superwoman syndrome influenced her life decisions while chasing academic, social, and financial success, Alisia shares a detailed account of her awareness-to-healing process, and aims to hold a mirror to readers vicariously acknowledging the stress they may be feeling through related experiences.Congrats Superwoman encourages readers to understand and recognize that they are enough, and to identify the sources which invalidate this, so they can recognize its impact, and evaluate how they intend to move forward.
This research-to-practice volume grounds clinicians in a robust, culturally-informed framework for conducting effective therapy with Asian-American couples, families, and individuals. Family, cultural, social, and spiritual dynamics are explored across ethnicities, generations, relationships, and immigrant/citizen experience to reflect a diverse, growing population. Discussion and case examples focus on contrasts, conflicts, and balances involved in acculturation and change, notably the shift from collectivist cultural tradition to a more independent view of the self, gender, choices, and relationships. The contributors’ finely shaded guidance and accessible approach will help therapists provide appropriate services for Asian-American clients without minimizing or pathologizing their experiences. Included in the coverage: How Asian American couples negotiate relational harmony: collectivism and gender equality. Through religion: working-class Korean immigrant women negotiate patriarchy. The role of Chinese grandparents in their adult children’s parenting practices in the United States. Balancing the old and the new: the case of second generation Filipino American women. Bicultural identity as a protective factor among Southeast Asian American youth who have witnessed domestic violence. Transition and Change in Collectivist Family Life is a cogent clinical resource for practitioners and mental health professionals with interests in Asian-American family therapy, psychotherapy, collectivism, and faith-based community and counseling.
