The warmouth, Lepomis gulosis, is a small sunfish resembling the rock bass. Although widespread in the eastern United States, it has been recorded in Canada only from southwestern Ontario (Lake Erie and Point Pelee National Park). This report provides information on the fish's geographic distribution, protection status, population sizes and trends, habitat, general biology, factors limiting its population and affecting its habitat, and the special significance of the species. Concludes with an evaluation of the future of the species in Canada.
