This book presents the proceedings of the 5th International Colloquium “Transformer Research and Asset Management,” held in Opatija, Croatia, on October 9–12, 2019. The papers chiefly focus on three groups of topics: 1. Numerical Modeling: Electromagnetic fields—Coupled fields—Transients—Numerical modeling in design 2. Materials, Components and New Technologies: Insulating materials—Magnetic materials and transformer noise—Transformer components—New transformer technologies 3. Transformer Lifecycle Management: Diagnostics and monitoring—Failure—Asset management—In-service experiences. The Colloquium was organized by the Croatian National Committee of CIGRE together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb and the Centre of Excellence for Transformers
With the signing of the Paris Agreement in December 2015 the United Nations explained their willingness to limit the GHG Emissions and contribute to the measures against the global warming effect. In 2019 the European Commission proposed the Green Deal and as a consequence the target to be climate neutral in 2050. In consequence the fossil based energy system has to transform into a climate-neutral energy system with renewable and sustainable energy carriers. Research on and development of alternative fuels and new production processes are ongoing to provide the technical solution. Political actions are needed to provide the economic framework for the introduction of such alternative fuel solutions. The fulfilment of the European CO2 reduction targets until 2050 needs realistic technical solutions including backwards compatible approaches for existing vehicle fleets. An economic and sustainable development towards climate neutral mobility requires a holistic view based on life cycle assessments for the different mobility approaches including the economic impacts as well as financing options. A synergetic discussion of solutions for future fuels and powertrain technologies is needed to develop an economic pathway to a sustainable and affordable mobility of tomorrow. The challenging goal for mobility can only be achieved through an international cooperation of universities, the automobile industry, energy producers, the oil industry and the legislative bodies of the member states. The international colloquium aims to contribute to the development of a climate-neutral mobility by exchanging views on and discussing all aspects connected with the "powertrain/fuel/environment" system, including the necessary political regulations.

The Ninth International Colloquium on Differential Equations was organized by the Institute for Basic Science of Inha University, the International Federation of Nonlinear Analysts, the Mathematical Society of Japan, Pharmaceutical Faculty of the Medical University of Sofia, the University of Catania and UNESCO, with the cooperation of a number of international mathematical organizations, and was held at the Technical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, August 18-23, 1998. This proceedings volume contains selected talks which deal with various aspects of differential equations and applications
Proceedings of the VIIth International Colloquium on Amphipoda held in Walpole, Maine, USA, September 14-16, 1990
The conference provides an international exchange forum for the industry and the academia. Leading university researchers present their latest findings, and representatives of the industry inspire scientists to develop new solutions.
This book focuses on Art and Design Education Research. Gathering 72 papers illustrated with diagrams and tables, they provide state-of-the-art information on infrastructure and sustainable issues in Art and Design, focusing on Design Industrial Applications, Visual Communication and New Media, Art Education Research, Cultural Studies, and the Social Implications of Art. They also offer detailed information on innovative research trends in Design Technology and Multimedia Design, as well as a compilation of interdisciplinary findings combining the Humanities and Quality of Life in Art and Design.
The Third International Colloquium on Numerical Analysis was organized by UNESCO and the Plovdiv Technical University, with the help of many international mathematical organizations, and was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 13--17 August 1994. This proceedings volume contains selected invited talks which deal with the following topics: -- numerical methods of algebra -- analysis -- ordinary and partial differential equations
The research results published in this book range from pure mathematical theory (semigroup theory, discrete mathematics, etc.) to theoretical computer science, in particular formal languages and automata. The papers address issues in the algebraic and combinatorial theories of semigroups, words and languages, the structure theory of automata, the classification theory of formal languages and codes, and applications of these theories to various areas, like quantum and molecular computing, coding theory, and cryptography.
This volume contains research and expository papers on recent advances in foliations and Riemannian geometry. Some of the topics covered in this volume include: topology, geometry, dynamics and analysis of foliations, curvature, submanifold theory, Lie groups and harmonic maps.Among the contributions, readers may find an extensive survey on characteristic classes of Riemannian foliations offering also new results, an article showing the uniform simplicity of certain diffeomorphism groups, an exposition of convergences of contact structures to foliations from the point of view of Thurston's and Thurston-Bennequin's inequalities, a discussion about Fatou-Julia decompositions for foliations and a description of singular Riemannian foliations on spaces without conjugate points.Papers on submanifold theory focus on the existence of graphs with prescribed mean curvature and mean curvature flow for spacelike graphs, isometric and conformal deformations and detailed surveys on totally geodesic submanifolds in symmetric spaces, cohomogeneity one actions on hyperbolic spaces and rigidity of geodesic spheres in space forms. Geometric realizability of curvature tensors and curvature operators are also treated in this volume with special attention to the affine and the pseudo-Riemannian settings. Also, some contributions on biharmonic maps and submanifolds enrich the scope of this volume in providing an overview of different topics of current interest in differential geometry.
