A collection of papers dealing with complete systems of intelligent robots, focusing on autonomy. The contributions cover intelligent perception, intelligent planning and control, and integrated systems.
This book contains scientific and engineering activities of the fifth international conference of Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS-5). The exploration for automatic systems has much attention over the centuries and created attractive research activities. The Intelligent and Autonomous systems are the current trend toward fully automatic systems that can adapt to changes in their environment. The purpose of the fifth IAS conference is to provide an opportunity for the international community of researchers in the field of autonomous systems as well as architectures, tools, components, techniques, and new IAS design methodologies. The emphasis will be on science and technology for autonomous systems working in a complex environment.
This text presents the proceedings of a conference on intelligent autonomous systems. Papers contribute solutions to the task of designing autonomous systems that are capable of operating independently of a human in partially structured and unstructured environments. For specific application, these systems should also learn from their actions in order to improve and optimize planning and execution of new tasks.
This book describes the latest research accomplishments, innovations, and visions in the field of robotics as presented at the 13th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS), held in Padua in July 2014, by leading researchers, engineers, and practitioners from across the world. The contents amply confirm that robots, machines, and systems are rapidly achieving intelligence and autonomy, mastering more and more capabilities such as mobility and manipulation, sensing and perception, reasoning, and decision making. A wide range of research results and applications are covered, and particular attention is paid to the emerging role of autonomous robots and intelligent systems in industrial production, which reflects their maturity and robustness. The contributions have been selected through a rigorous peer-review process and contain many exciting and visionary ideas that will further galvanize the research community, spurring novel research directions. The series of biennial IAS conferences commenced in 1986 and represents a premiere event in robotics.
This research book contains a sample of most recent research in the area of intelligent autonomous systems. The contributions include: General aspects of intelligent autonomous systems Design of intelligent autonomous robots Biped robots Robot for stair-case navigation Ensemble learning for multi-source information fusion Intelligent autonomous systems in psychiatry Condition monitoring of internal combustion engine Security management of an enterprise network High dimensional neural nets and applications This book is directed to engineers, scientists, professor and the undergraduate/postgraduate students who wish to explore this field further.
This carefully edited volume aims at providing readers with the most recent progress on intelligent autonomous systems, with its particular emphasis on intelligent autonomous ground, aerial and underwater vehicles as well as service robots for home and healthcare under the context of the aforementioned convergence. “Frontiers of Intelligent Autonomous Systems” includes thoroughly revised and extended papers selected from the 12th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS-12), held in Jeju, Korea, June 26-29, 2012. The editors chose 35 papers out of the 202 papers presented at IAS-12 which are organized into three chapters: Chapter 1 is dedicated to autonomous navigation and mobile manipulation, Chapter 2 to unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles and Chapter 3 to service robots for home and healthcare. To help the readers to easily access this volume, each chapter starts with a chapter summary introduced by one of the editors: Chapter 1 by Sukhan Lee, Chapter 2 by Kwang Joon Yoon and Chapter 3 by Jangmyung Lee.
Autonomy and adaptivity are key aspects of truly intelligent artificial systems, dating from the first IAS conference in 1989. The goal of IAS-9 is to lay out scientific ideas and design principles for artificial systems. This work contains papers that cover both the applied and the theoretical aspects of intelligent autonomous systems.
This collection of twenty-three timely contributions covers a well-selected repertory of topics within the autonomous systems field. The book discusses a range of design, construction, control, and operation problems along with a multiplicity of well-established and novel solutions.
This book presents the latest advances and research achievements in the fields of autonomous robots and intelligent systems, presented at the IAS-16 conference, conducted virtually in Singapore, from 22 to 25 June 2021. IAS is a common platform for an exchange and sharing of ideas among the international scientific research and technical community on some of the main trends of robotics and autonomous systems: navigation, machine learning, computer vision, control, and robot design—as well as a wide range of applications. IAS-16 reflects the rise of machine learning and deep learning developments in the robotics field, as employed in a variety of applications and systems. All contributions were selected using a rigorous peer-reviewed process to ensure their scientific quality. Despite the challenge of organising a conference during a pandemic, the IAS biennial conference remains an essential venue for the robotics and autonomous systems community ever since its inception in 1986. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the International Conference on Computational Intelligence, 7th Dortmund Fuzzy Days, held in Dortmund, Germany, in October 2001. The 71 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from an overwhelming number of submissions. Also included are four invited contributions and 24 poster presentations. The papers are devoted to foundational and practical issues in fuzzy systems, soft computing, neural networks, evolutionary algorithms, and machine learning and thus cover the whole range of computational intelligence.
