This lab manual is intended to support the students of undergraduate engineering in the related fields of electronics engineering for practicing laboratory experiments. It will also be useful to the undergraduate students of electrical science branches of engineering and applied science. This book begins with an introduction to the electronic components and equipment, and the experiments for electronics workshop. Further, it covers experiments for basic electronics lab, electronic circuits lab and digital electronics lab. A separate chapter is devoted to the simulation of electronics experiments using PSpice. Each experiment has aim, components and equipment required, theory, circuit diagram, tables, graphs, alternate circuits, answered questions and troubleshooting techniques. Answered viva voce questions and solved examination questions given at the end of each experiment will be very helpful for the students. The purpose of the experiments described here is to acquaint the students with: • Analog and digital devices • Design of circuits • Instruments and procedures for electronic test and measurement
This book is evolved from the experience of the author who taught all lab courses in his three decades of teaching in various universities in India. The objective of this lab manual is to provide information to undergraduate students to practice experiments in electronics laboratories. This book covers 118 experiments for linear/analog integrated circuits lab, communication engineering lab, power electronics lab, microwave lab and optical communication lab. The experiments described in this book enable the students to learn: • Various analog integrated circuits and their functions • Analog and digital communication techniques • Power electronics circuits and their functions • Microwave equipment and components • Optical communication devices This book is intended for the B.Tech students of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Electronics, Instrumentation and Control, Computer Science, and Applied Electronics. It is designed not only for engineering students, but can also be used by BSc/MSc (Physics) and Diploma students. KEY FEATURES • Contains aim, components and equipment required, theory, circuit diagram, pin-outs of active devices, design, tables, graphs, alternate circuits, and troubleshooting techniques for each experiment • Includes viva voce and examination questions with their answers • Provides exposure on various devices TARGET AUDIENCE • B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Electronics, Instrumentation and Control, Computer Science, and Applied Electronics) • BSc/MSc (Physics) • Diploma (Engineering)
Obtain the fundamental background in electronics needed to succeed in today's increasingly digital world! The fifth edition continues to expose readers to the broad field of electronics at a level that can be easily understood, with all-new information on circuit board fabrication, assembly, and repair as well as practical applications and troubleshooting. Color has been added to all drawings and photos that supplement the descriptions of important concepts and techniques, making it even easier to master basic theory. Coverage is divided into six sections - DC Circuits, AC Circuits, Semiconductor Devices, Linear Circuits, Digital Circuits, and now, Practical Applications - a new section providing hands-on opportunities to apply DC/AC principles.
Focusing specifically on silicon devices, the Third Edition of Device Electronics for Integrated Circuits takes students in integrated-circuits courses from fundamental physics to detailed device operation. Because the book focuses primarily on silicon devices, each topic can include more depth, and extensive worked examples and practice problems ensure that students understand the details.
Accompanying CD-ROM contains Delmar Learning's Electronics into the Future product with multimedia presentations, Excel templates, MultiSIM circuit files, and a copy of Textbook edition of MultiSIM.
Excellent bridge between general solid-state physics textbook and research articles packed with providing detailed explanations of the electronic, vibrational, transport, and optical properties of semiconductors "The most striking feature of the book is its modern outlook ... provides a wonderful foundation. The most wonderful feature is its efficient style of exposition ... an excellent book." Physics Today "Presents the theoretical derivations carefully and in detail and gives thorough discussions of the experimental results it presents. This makes it an excellent textbook both for learners and for more experienced researchers wishing to check facts. I have enjoyed reading it and strongly recommend it as a text for anyone working with semiconductors ... I know of no better text ... I am sure most semiconductor physicists will find this book useful and I recommend it to them." Contemporary Physics Offers much new material: an extensive appendix about the important and by now well-established, deep center known as the DX center, additional problems and the solutions to over fifty of the problems at the end of the various chapters.
Many changes have been made in this edition, first to the nomenclature so that the book is in agreement with the International System of Units (S. I. ) and secondly to the circuit diagrams so that they conform to B. S. S. 3939. The book has been enlarged and now has 546 problems. Much more emphasis has been given to semiconductor devices and transistor circuits, additional topics and references for further reading have been introduced, some of the original problems and solutions have been taken out and several minor modifications and corrections have been made. It could be argued that thermionic-valve circuits should not have been mentioned since valves are no longer considered important by most electronic designers except possibly for very high power or voltage applications. Some of the original problems on valves and valve circuits have been retained, however, for completeness because the material is still present in many syllabuses and despite the advent and prolification of solid-state devices in recent years the good old-fashioned valve looks like being in existence for a long time. There are still some topics readers may expect to find included which have had to be omitted; others have had less space devoted to them than one would have liked. A new feature of this edition is that some problems with answers, given at the end of each chapter, are left as student exercises so the solutions are not included. The author wishes to thank his colleagues Professor P. N.
