In simple words an antonym can be defined as a word that has opposite meaning to the head word. It is the word that provides the opposite meaning of the word in context.To simplify this, it is necessary to mention that the opposite of antonym is synonym. For example, go and come are antonyms, but go and depart are synonyms.It has to be further clarified. Logically speaking the other side of white is not white, but the antonym of white is black.To better understand the meaning of a word, its antonym can be studied. Let us take the word 'morose' for example. 'Morose' is defined as gloomily or sullenly ill-humored.
