An inclusive search for anomalous production of two prompt, isolated leptons with the same electric charge is presented. The search is performed in a data sample corresponding to 4.7 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected in 2011 at [arrow]" = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Pairs of leptons (e" e", e" [mu]", and [mu]" [mu]") with large transverse momentum are selected, and the dilepton invariant mass distribution is examined for any deviation from the Standard Model expectation. No excess is found, and upper limits on the production cross section of like-sign lepton pairs from physics processes beyond the Standard Model are placed as a function of the dilepton invariant mass within a fiducial region close to the experimental selection criteria. The 95% confidence level upper limits on the cross section of anomalous e" e", e" [mu]", or [mu]" [mu]" production range between 1.7 fb and 64 fb depending on the dilepton mass and flavour combination.
We have searched for evidence of supersymmetry with the Collider Detector at Fermilab using trilepton events in p[anti p] collisions at[radical]s= 1.8 TeV. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), we expect trilepton events from chargino-neutralino ([tilde[xi]][sup[+-]][sub 1][tilde[xi]][sup 0][sub 2]) pair production, with subsequent decay into leptons. In all possible combinations of electron and muon channels, we observe no candidate events in 107 pb[sup -1] of data. We present limits on chargino and neutralino production within the framework of a supergravity inspired MSSM:[sigma][sub[tilde[xi]][sup[+-]][sub 1][tilde[xi]][sup 0][sub 2]][center-dot] BR([tilde[xi]][sup[+-]][sub 1][tilde[xi]][sup 0][sub 2][yields] 3l+ X)0.34 pb and M[sub[tilde[xi]][sup[+-]][sub 1]] 81.5 GeV/c[sup 2] for tan[beta]= 2, [mu]= -600 GeV/c[sup 2] and M[sub[tilde q]]= M[sub[tilde g]]. We also present limits on a SU(5) x U(1) supergravity model and a 4 and 1/2 parameter Minimal SUGRA model.
We present the results of a search for anomalous resonant production of tau lepton pairs with large invariant mass, the first such search using the CDF II Detector in Run II of the Tevatron p{bar p} collider. Such anomalous production could arise from various new physics processes. In a data sample corresponding to 195 pb−1 of integrated luminosity we predict 2.8 " 0.5 events from Standard Model background processes and observe 4. We use this result to set limits on the production of heavy scalar and vector particles decaying to tau lepton pairs.
The authors report a search for the anomalous production of events with multiple charged leptons in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 346 pb−1 collected by the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The search is divided into three-lepton and four-or-more-lepton data samples. They observe six events in the three-lepton sample and zero events in the ≥4-lepton sample. Both numbers of events are consistent with standard model background expectations. Within the framework of an R-parity violating supergravity model, the results are interpreted as mass limits on the lightest neutralino ({bar {chi}}1°) and chargino ({bar {chi}}1{sup {+-}}) particles. For one particular choice of model parameters, the limits are M({bar {chi}}1°) > 110 GeV/c2 and M({bar {chi}}1{sup {+-}}) > 203 GeV/c2 at 95% confidence level; the variation of these mass limits with model parameters is presented.

We have searched for evidence for the chargino {bar {chi}}{sub 1}{sup {+-}} and neutralino ({bar {chi}}{sub 2}{sup 0}) pair production in proton anti-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 124.5 pb{sup -1} were examined for events containing like-sign electron pair and missing energy for the first time at D0. They observed no excess above the yield from Standard Model processes. In the framework of mSUGRA, they set a series of upper limits, at the 95% confidence level, of the chargino neutralino production cross section times the branching fraction to tri-electrons as a function of the chargino mass. These limits range from 0.79 pb for m{sub {bar {chi}}{sub 1}{sup {+-}}} = 86.9 GeV/c{sup 2} to 0.52 pb for m{sub {bar {chi}}{sub 1}{sup {+-}}} = 115.1 GeV/c{sup 2}.
