In this second installment of I’ll Hold You Down, things heat up just a tad bit. What is one to do when their own cousin has them at gunpoint and seems to want them dead? Natalie Clover seems to be going through it time after time, and things still don’t seem to be looking better for her. Will her ex, that she once loved, be able to save her and possibly win her back? Or will he be just another problem for her? Neil has done something that he has never done before, and that’s put his heart on the line for a woman. All he wants is someone that will really ride for him and hold him down in the streets, and he wants it with Natalie. The only thing is, he doesn’t know if she will be able to handle his street life, or if she is just going to shoot him down. Aside from things with Natalie, Neil has even bigger problems after finding out that his sister has been knocked up by the same guy that wants to see him behind bars. Will Natalie be able to find her way out of trouble? Will Neil be able to handle business without hurting the only family member he has left? Will this duo be able to come out on top and give love with each other a chance? Or are things just too complicated for love when it comes to these two?
Natalie Clover is a twenty-five-year-old substitute teacher. Her life was complete and things were going well for her. That is until her boyfriend, Jeremy Stanford, of ten years, decides to leave her for his wife and child that he conceived while they were together. The news about his secret wife and child rocks her world so bad, that it pushes her to try to do the unthinkable. Things aren’t looking too bright for her, until she meets Neil. Neil is thirty years old, and he’s known as the Jugg King in his hood. He is single and he’s not looking. He feels like women are scandalous and all they do is lie. He doesn’t want that kind of trouble in his life, and all he wants to do is continue to run the streets and get money like he’s been doing. But then he runs into Natalie, and his opinion changes. He just has to have her. But with a snake on his team, will he be able to focus on her? A lot is going on right under his nose, and he doesn’t even know it. So what happens when the snake on his team happens to be very important to the only family member he has left? What happens when Natalie’s ex turns out to be her new flame’s worker? And last but not least, what happens when the very person that Natalie allows into her home, turns out to be at the center of a killer problem for her? Will love even have a chance to shine with these two? Or is it lights out from the jump, leaving the game of love to never begin?
Natalie and Neil have been through a lot throughout their course of trying to be together. For some reason, they just can’t seem to get their happy ending that they so desperately crave. Natalie is just trying to keep her mind occupied when her ex-lover kidnaps her and goes crashing into the bridge. No one knows if she is okay and if she will see it out of this traumatic event. Neil is cold when it comes to his enemy, but he has the biggest heart ever when it comes to his loved ones. When he gets a phone call that doesn’t sound so good from his sister, he rushes to try to save her. Once he makes it to her house, he is swarmed by the police. His sister’s baby’s father had called and falsely accused him of kidnapping his own niece. As if being tackled by the cops in his sister’s yard isn’t enough, he hears a gunshot go off in the house. The only thing on his mind is getting inside to make sure his sister is safe. In this finale, the lines of loyalty have been blurred with the lines of betrayal. It’s hard to tell who’s on whose side, especially when not so new people are added to the mix. It’s supposed to be blood before everything, but that’s just simply not the case anymore. Will Natalie survive the car accident? Will Neil be able to save his sister and find his way out of the dilemma he is in? Can these two get their happy ending that they are so deserving of, or will their enemies make sure that they will never see it? Take this last ride with this couple and find out!
This heartwarming picture book reassures children that a parent’s love never lets go—based on the poignant lyrics of JJ Heller’s beloved lullaby “Hand to Hold.” “May the living light inside you be the compass as you go / May you always know you have my hand to hold.” With delightful illustrations and an engaging rhyme scheme, this book offers the promise of security and love every child’s heart longs to know. From skipping stones and counting stars to climbing trees and telling stories, every moment is wrapped snugly in the certain warmth of a parent’s presence and God’s blessing. With poignancy and joy, this bedtime read captures the unconditional love parents want their children to know but so often fail to express amid the chaos of daily life.
